Welove2cruise2 Posted October 15, 2005 #26 Share Posted October 15, 2005 Can someone tell me where the Latitudes check-in is? Do you first have to go through that BIG LONG security line? Last year when we went, no one could point us in the right direction -- just pointed us to the end of the line. Not that it was bad -- we didn't think so, but it did look like we'd be there a long time -- we were on board in about an hour.

If you get there early and have to wait there is an area upstairs for VIP and Latitudes. The stairway is to the left of center when you enter the pier. Once boarding is in progress and you arrive it is into the line for security with everyone else. There are Latitude check-in desks but check out all the lines they may not be the shortest. Welove2cruise2 Posted October 15, 2005 #28 Share Posted October 15, 2005 Thanks, Shoreguy! How did I know you'd have the answer??!!:p We're taking the bus from Providence; seems to me we got there around noon last year.
DesertGal Posted October 15, 2005 #29 Share Posted October 15, 2005 We drove to the NY pier and parked in the terminal. We had no problems boarding the Dawn. We arrived at 11:30am and were onboard in 30 minutes. Our relatives arrived by bus from Boston at 1pm and had no problems either. I imagine the winter months are faster because there are fewer ships in port. They loved the bus service because they didn't have to bother with luggage. It was all taken care of for them. However, there is no pier service faster than Boston. Cruising is quick and easy. Last week we even got a tugboat water parade cruising out. It was cool watching planes flying overhead landing at the airport across from the pier. We were off the ship so fast we couldn't believe we were home earlier enough to go to work--but chose not to.
