violetsmile Posted March 1, 2016 #26 Share Posted March 1, 2016 We're more itinerary-preference people than ship-preference people...which is why we've experienced so few ships/classes. Because I'm always looking at destinations and the calendar (work in a school, so no travel flexibility whatsoever) over the specific ship, our options have been limited. But that said, I love the Conquest Class ships. I think they are easy to learn/navigate, and have lots of places to explore. Liberty is my favorite ship I've been on, since it's both Conquest Class and has the 2.0 upgrades. I'm only sad we're sailing Valor again right before her dry dock! We are in Ohio, so also always have to travel to port. I like POM pretty well, and would go there anytime. Our cruise out of Galveston was a pain and I've avoided cruising out of there again. We're trying Port Canaveral this time, and I'm looking forward to a new port.
Rare Jamman54 Posted March 1, 2016 #27 Share Posted March 1, 2016 We love the Spirit Class ships the best. Our favorite of the three we have sailed on is the Pride. Even better since she received the 2.0 upgrades!! :)
BenjiRodney Posted March 1, 2016 #28 Share Posted March 1, 2016 Breeze then the Legend for me.
Podna's Posted March 1, 2016 #29 Share Posted March 1, 2016 Would love to hear about your experience of cruising down Mississippi. We are headed there in December and have never cruised from New Orleans. Tx Although mostly at night, I enjoy the sites going down the river. It takes bout 7 .5 to 8 hours to reach the gulf. Bluejacketnut Posted March 1, 2016 #31 Share Posted March 1, 2016 I have sailed on the Festivale, Valor, Victory and Sunshine. I have to say that the Sunshine exceeds them all! Food options, deck space and all. Victory and Valor were nice in their own ways. The Festivale was an experience back in '90 but that was the days of Midnight Buffets, truly Elegant Nights and wild rides in tropical storms. HectorAchilleus Posted March 1, 2016 #32 Share Posted March 1, 2016 Any Spirit class but especially The Legend. Then the Liberty then the Breeze Worst was Destiny (Sunshine - crowded, crowded, crowded!)
NCteacherlovescruising Posted March 2, 2016 #33 Share Posted March 2, 2016 My favorite Carnival ship has been the Liberty, but we haven't sailed on the Breeze, Dream or Vista... Our favorite ship overall was the Oasis of the Seas.
elainmir Posted March 2, 2016 #34 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Right now I'm in love with the Paradise. It's the perfect size. Doing our 3rd cruise on her in 17 days!
RNsoon2beNP Posted March 2, 2016 Author #35 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Loving the feed back. And sailing down the Mississippi, on your balcony, theres something SO peaceful about it. I loved sailing outta NOLA, my favorite port SO far. The Vista out Miami is up next. I excited to see a different sized ship, loving your thoughts :)
sjn911 Posted March 2, 2016 #36 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Right now I'm in love with the Paradise. It's the perfect size. Doing our 3rd cruise on her in 17 days! Paradise me too so far.....because she was the first Carnival cruise in 2009. Spirit because really not alot larger. Looking forward to trying each class hear so many great things about Freedom, Liberty, and Breeze. But my favorite I feel will remain the Paradise...because...of the camaraderie and service and nobody trying too hard to be 'special' in the well traveled passenger group..lots of family HS grad trips June 6 I think.....it was just a super 4 day to Catalina and Ensenada. So glad you found a fit you can enjoy and repeat!!
A&Jfamily Posted March 2, 2016 #37 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Sunshine! We have not done Dream, Magic or Breeze (yet) but just about all the other classes. She is our fav because she is a hybrid - not as big as some ships, but has TONS of great additions like sports square, ropes and all the different food venues. Next favorite would be Legend and her sisters - that ship just has a great flow to it, with basically the same amenities. Conquest class is our least favorite - smoky casino drifts to lobby and up stairwells, can't navigate deck 3 and 4 without going to passenger deck 2 or thru smoky casino on 5, and huge fishbowl lido. Babycat Posted March 2, 2016 #38 Share Posted March 2, 2016 I tend to find the smaller the ship, the better my experience for some reason.
Savlamara Posted March 2, 2016 #39 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Great to see the Dream mentioned multiple times as a favorite as its next on the list! My favorite thus far was the Breeze, cause it felt calming, spa like because of the decor. But to be quite honest any Carnival cruise ship is my favorite! I'm trying to go on each CCL ship at least once!
wxguyinms Posted March 2, 2016 #40 Share Posted March 2, 2016 The Legend is by far my favorite, though the Conquest is a close second.
Babycat Posted March 3, 2016 #41 Share Posted March 3, 2016 In terms of how much I enjoyed my experience...Freedom>Triumph>Conquest>Dream. I think the Dream had the best layout though.
