On the Anthem and all is Wonderful!!

Recommended Posts

We have been so pleasantly surprised so far!! There was a bit of a line pulling up to Cape Liberty but it moved fast and we were unloading in no time. Boarding was a breeze. Took the advice of everyone here and headed straight to two70. The line was crazy long so we re-routed to windjammer. There was a line for hand washing ( some were actually complaining about being forced to wash hands) but the line moved quickly. We proceeded all the way to the back and had no problem finding a seat. The food was great and as we were eating they announced that all rooms were ready. Perfect timing! Muster drill was crowded but easy and the Captain announced he sees nothing but smooth sailing ahead. No storms or strong winds in sight. Everyone cheered. We are looking forward to our first dinner tonight a Grande. Planning on Welcome Aboard show and a little casino action. Loving my vacation!!! Can't wait to be "rocked" to sleep tonight.

Awesome! Interesting to hear how two70 was so busy right at boarding!

Glad you're having a great time! Hope it continues and that you have a wonderful time. We're excited for our turn this October!

Glad you are ready to enjoy. Can't wait for our August Anthem cruising to NE & Canada. When I sailed on the Quantum, I found the Park Café by 2x70 not as good as the one in Oasis & Allure, but found the WJ to be the best of the entire fleet.

Ps. If you come back for any reporting, let me know if they have karaoke in the Music Hall--really enjoyed right after dinner. Some were good, but others were very bad, but entertaining.

Enjoy yourself.

I posted 22 days of Cruise Compasses. You can see how much karaoke there is.

Thanks so much, Merion_Mom. I am sailing on Anthem over Labor Day with several family members and I know they will appreciate the heads up about activities. (We are almost neighbors, btw. We are in Newtown Square.)

Dinner at Grande was so good tonight. After all the bad reviews I read I as so happy to have a great 1st dinner onboard. Had shrimp cocktail, French onion soup, filet minion with a lobster tail for the entree. Everything was cooked perfect, hot and tasty. Crime brûlée for dessert, my favorite dessert and here it was just average. The welcome aboard show was fun. The comidedian was funny and we plan to attend his late night show. DH bought me a very nice watch after dinner and we spent some time in the casino! It was a great ending to the first day of vacation. Looking forward to our 1st full day at sea tomorrow.

Didn't notice if karaoke was happening tonight but I do see it listed for tomorrow.

No, but there is one on your device. My IPad had a Dutch auto correct, which made the word "otters" instead of "others", on the roll call at Tapatalk or the Cruisecritic forum app.

I'm very happy.......so far, for Lucky Lady T. Wasn't she the one that wanted to cancel her cruise after the heavy storm cruise?

I love the change of attitude, and truly hope that you enjoy the rest of your cruise as you have indicated that you enjoyed day one. Keep up your reports, good or bad, and enjoy your cruise!!:)

Could we all stop offering this up as a tip? lol

I told my family of 11 that we should head right to Two70 after we board as it will be less crowded.

Now I am going to have another game plan! I am taking this cruise with 6 first time cruisers and I don't want them to have a bad experience with lines the second they get on board. :)
