USA41018 Posted March 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2016 Gosh, can't remember when I had no cruises booked. Just completed my 35th Carnival Cruise and now nothing. DH is not interested in cruising anymore. But hopefully I will get one of my adult kids cruising with me. I have been cruising with the Premier Casino Cruise Deals for the last few cruises and am waiting for more offers. Who else doesn't have a cruise booked. Isn't it tramatic. cntrydncr1 Posted March 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2016 I have one booked so far out it almost is like not having one booked! It is traumatic!

firemanbobswife Posted March 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2016 Nothing booked for me, either. DH has decided that he doesn't enjoy cruising as much anymore so I have been leaving him home. That's OK though since I always leave him a nice "Honey-do" list. I will be Platinum at the start of my next one - yay! But sadly, it will probably be a while. Summer is coming up and prices are out of my range, so I'm hoping for maybe the end of the year but I'm not sure. I'm actually thinking about trying RC for something different, however, I'm undecided on that as well. It is killing me not having anything to look forward to. :(
Trish12345 Posted March 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2016 What? Your DH does not want to cruise anymore? Can you get a new DH? :p:p Just kidding. Take a break and try something new. We did for a while and eventually came back to cruising.
Lenliner Posted March 9, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2016 It's funny that this topic came up. We have both come to the conclusion that cruising isn't the great value it was when we started cruising a decade ago. Combination of higher prices, and airfares to access the southern ports, as well as cruise lines diluting the quality of the product means we'll be looking to vacation elsewhere for the next few years. Being Canadian with our dollar at .74¢ doesn't help. At least then we can choose many places where the U.S. dollar isn't in play. O_O

We took a cruise a few years ago to the Med. and Cokes were $8. Our U.S. Dollar was so bad that we grounded ourselves to only local US cruises for awhile. That was not fun spending twice the price for everything.

Same here. I haven't cruised since November 2014. I thought that I would go crazy after getting home & having no cruises booked for the first time in 7 years. But, I have found plenty of other interesting things to do that have been very enriching, and all of it has been cheaper than cruising. I haven't really missed cruising as much as I thought I would, but the day will come. I have been looking around recently, but still have a ways to go before I decide on anything. To the OP, I can understand your DH not being interested in cruising anymore. Find some other similar things, such as beachfront hotels or whatever. He may enjoy some traveling around through mountains; getting in touch with nature. Something different for a change, then his interest in cruising may come back after a break. Florings Posted March 9, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 9, 2016 That is the saddest thing I've ever heard!:( I think my DH would be happy to do something different, but I absolutely love being on a cruise ship and so he tags along, always finding something to do. He has made suggestions to go to Vegas instead of cruising in 2017...I might have to do my first solo then!
Itzmyn Posted March 10, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 10, 2016 I wasn't going to book one this year due to getting Invisalign braces and the fact that you cannot eat or drink anything but water when they are in your mouth, and have to take them out, eat/drink, brush/floss before inserting them back in. But, my best friend passed away in January, total shock, and 2 days after her memorial I booked a cruise, life's way to short to postpone due to inconvenience!! 25 days until the ship departs from New Orleans:):)

I have been cruising with the Premier Casino Cruise Deals for the last few cruises and am waiting for more offers. Who else doesn't have a cruise booked. Isn't it tramatic. I feel your pain. We had to cancel 3 of 4 booked cruises over the last 2 1/2 years, due to very sick elderly parents. Now, I'm stuck inland, watching cruise prices climb while the cruise experience I'm accustomed to is being slowly whittled down to Motel 6 standards. It isn't a good feeling for a past cruise junkie. I fear that by the time comes when we can cruise again, we'll no longer be able to afford it, or no longer love the product, if we can still afford it. I never get the best casino offers if I have a cruise booked, so I just wait until I get a great deal to book. Those great deals have kept me cruising more often than I otherwise would the past couple years. So not having a cruise booked may bring you a better casino deal. At least that's been my experience. Those great deals also make it more affordable to cruise solo. So don't stay home just because you don't have someone who can go!

I've always gotten Premier Casino Offers even when I already have a cruise booked. The offers were decent, discounted cabin and cash. Hopefully I will get something better soon since I have nothing booked. Waiting patiently. One just expired last month and I didn't book so waiting for the next one. mjhouse2 Posted March 10, 2016 #15 Share Posted March 10, 2016 I seem to have the opposite problem. My DH loves to cruise almost as much as me :) Only difference I like sharing the experience. We have taken his mother, our kids and grandkids. Now I am hoping our DD who didn't get to go last time due to having a baby gets to come on our next one in December. We have taken a cruise just the two of us a few years back and it was because we got a REALLY good deal. $114 pp for ocean view 5 nights with RCL. I guess I should keep my eyes pealed for another good deal for a quick get away for 2 :)

welove2cruise2014 Posted March 11, 2016 #17 Share Posted March 11, 2016 None booked for us :( I am pregnant with our first (due in September!)... our 3 cruises have been in Oct so THAT'S not happening lol. We looked for cruises leaving Boston... Baltimore... NY/NJ... but cant find one that works between now and the "cutoff" in May. Ahhhhh well, kind of neat to think the next time we do cruise, we'll be cruising with a little one :)
pianogal83 Posted March 12, 2016 #18 Share Posted March 12, 2016 We are another with no cruise booked. In 2010 - 2013 I was cruising 3-5 times a year. We had our last cruise in Feb. of 2014 and it was the first one we did not enjoy. We decided to take a break from cruising and have been enjoying other types of vacations. Cruising used to be so cheap it was hard to pass. Now I can go other places just as cheaply or more so. We are flying to Vegas for 8 days this summer. Flight, 4 star resort and rental car in a bundled deal from Expedia cost less than a 7 day cruise in an interior room.

Plus we must travel from Vancouver to access Caribbean cruises. We'll cruise again one day, that's for sure, but for the time being we have some spectacular trip plans that don't involve cruising, or U$ dollars. ✈
Lenliner Posted March 28, 2016 #20 Share Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) Well...... weren't going to cruise for a couple of years, but had an expiring credit with an airline to use up. Looked at Vegas, but resent resort fees! Then we looked at a week in Hawaii, but we were just there recently, then I stumbled upon a 4 day repositioning cruise from LA to Vancouver on Princess in May. OV, unobstructed for $169, plus we got $50 OBC! Booked! An inexpensive little getaway for the two of us with northern pesos to spend. Free air doesn't hurt either, just paying taxes! We'll have to see how Princess 👸 measures up against Carnival. I don't wish to start a debate on the merits of one over the other, however after some of the changes at Carnival over the last decade it was time for us to try another brand. 😖 👸 Edited March 28, 2016 by Lenliner
