dodger1964 Posted August 30, 2016 Author #26 Share Posted August 30, 2016 She's looking good on her years - didn't knew she could sing, I remember her most for Ghost :D The Caribbean cruises must have a completely different age demographic to the ones we've been on ex Southampton. I think Millican & Nesbitt would be a better match for the UK  It is a Christmas cruise..so there will be a lot of younger cruisers...Celebrity just has to figure out a way to make sure they actually know about it so their parents can fork over the $$$$$. oneputt18 Posted August 30, 2016 #27 Share Posted August 30, 2016 She's looking good on her years - didn't knew she could sing, I remember her most for Ghost :D Wrong Demi, that was Demi Moore in Ghost, Demi Lovato wasn't even born when Ghost was filmed. CruisingChick Posted August 30, 2016 #29 Share Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) That would make me NOT want to book any of those sailings. Not sure what age group they are going for but mostly teenyboppers like Demi Lovato as she came from Disney TV. I doubt any of those have money to pay for a Holiday cruise and even if their parents do I doubt the parents want to spend their Holiday at a Demi Lovato concert. Rare ghstudio Posted August 30, 2016 #30 Share Posted August 30, 2016 This is what's special that day in port. http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=7200 At those prices, Celebrity needs to have at least 4 ships to get enough passengers to cover their expenses :)

I'm not sure about this sailing (at least for the Summit)...I would consider our price to be CHEAP! I was surprised a Xmas cruise would be that cheap. Maybe they are not including meals in the price anymore?
Rare ORV Posted August 30, 2016 #32 Share Posted August 30, 2016 Yes, I know. British sense of humour not translating well I got it, but like much British humour it wasn't funny. :p
Rare ORV Posted August 30, 2016 #33 Share Posted August 30, 2016 On that Celebrity page that it links to the word December is misspelled 4 times in the dates that the different ships leave on. DECEMEBER Seriously, don't any of these companies proof read anything?
Rare Texed Posted August 30, 2016 #34 Share Posted August 30, 2016 Would love to hear the duelling horns that day:cool: Phil If all 4 are lined up together, you must post a picture :). Phil and Jenny, We will be there in St. Maarten. We will let you know the outcome. :)

Duanerice1 Posted August 31, 2016 #36 Share Posted August 31, 2016 She's not exactly "on the cruise line" here, she'll be at a "special venue," and X guests will have access by paying $100 or $300 (VIP) [on top of the cruise fare]. Ha ha, I saw that too. What a deal!
DYKWIA Posted August 31, 2016 #37 Share Posted August 31, 2016 Ha ha, I saw that too. What a deal! I suppose it depends on how big a venue it is and whether she's doing a full set of whether she's doing 3 songs and the rest us support artists. I think Millican & Nesbitt would be a better match for the UK  I laughed (and got!) both of the jokes :D So far, I have only sailed Celebrity in the Med (3 times), and they have been clearly aiming at a younger demographic, most noticeably with some of the 'music' around the ship. I will be interested to see if there is a different vibe to our January Florida cruise. I also thought 'Who?' when I read the blurb ;).
Jeremiah1212 Posted August 31, 2016 #39 Share Posted August 31, 2016 She definitely won't appeal to the more 'traditional' Celebrity cruiser, but it's no secret that they are trying to attract younger passengers. If it's a full concert (which is seems to be) $100 a ticket isn't an exorbitant price.
DYKWIA Posted September 1, 2016 #40 Share Posted September 1, 2016 No, it's not, but how big a venue have they got to fill? Normally when an act is charging that sort of money they have a large population to sell to - not 4 ships
