rummenroman Posted March 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2016 So we were on the Navigator of the Seas a few weeks ago. We would sit in the R Bar and almost guzzle cucumber martinis (well I would, my partner like to try different things). There were by far and away the best drink I have had in a very long time. When I say we paid for our drink package there, I mean it! All of the the girls that were working the bar were simply fantastic! The drinks was fantastic (not just the cucumber martini, but anything they made)! I loved to walk up to the bar and say surprise me....they never let me down with a drink! Now that I am home I wouldn't mind a drink to remind me of a fantastic cruise. Problem is I can seem to find a good recipe for the drink. Anyone have any idea? Better yet, anyone going on the Navigator that can ask the 3 Eastern European ladies how to make it?
Rare S.A.M.J.R. Posted March 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2016 They also make them at 150 Central Park on Oasis (at least they did three years ago). Man, were they GOOD!

DianeCcruiser Posted March 28, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2016 They also made a tasty cucumber fizz drink. Elderberry liquor was one of the ingredients. So good.
Firsttimecruiser2016 Posted March 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2016 I just got off the navigator yesterday and LOVED the R Bar. The bartenders were so fun and we would just hang out at the bar all night. I'm not of legal age to drink so they made me a virgin cucumber martini and it was AMAZING!! I'm really gonna miss those ladies.....
rummenroman Posted March 29, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted March 29, 2016 Cucumber martini 3 (1/4 inch) cucumber wheels 2 large basil leaves 4 count or .75 oz monin lemon grass syrup “muddle” add 2 oz. Sweet and sour 1.5 oz grey goose vodka shake and strain garnish with cucumber wheel and a medium sized basil leaf This isn't what they used. There was no basil, no lemon grass syrup. They were using lemonchello (spelling?), elderflower liquor and simple syrup. Thanks though!
SA Traveler Posted March 29, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 29, 2016 I really missed the Navigator R Bar when we were on the Liberty. The mixologist had no idea how to make a cucumber martini. He even had to go somewhere else to get a cucumber! I was so hoping we would enjoy the R Bar on the Liberty as much as the one on the Navigator but it just didn't happen. It wasn't just the cucumber thing. The "vibe" just wasn't the same.
