Good afternoon, I hope you are having or had a good day. I was wondering, I heard about how little kids aren't allowed on this ship b/c there aren't things for them to do. I have a teenager, and we want to go. Tell me what you think about the Tahitian Princess. Do you think the South Pacific is a good place to cruise? You can e-mail me if you want to. Here is my

I loved Tahiti and we have been twice. It is a beautiful place to travel. Expensive!! A teenager would probably have fun but small children no. Just not enough for them to do. I love the itinerary and the small ship.

We liked the 10 day itinerary for a start. Tahiti is such a long way, I wouldn't want to go on a 7 day cruise.

Secondly I liked the size of the ship. It wasn't too big and there was never a wait for tenders.

I also loved the interior of the ship It was like an English Country house. Very warm and understated, not glitzy.

Our cabins were great. There were plenty of cupboards and drawers to put all our clothes in and our suitcases were able to fit under the bed.

We also were lucky and had a great group of people on board and the final thing was the weather. We were in the wet season and yet we had great weather.

I am sure your teenager will enjoy the cruise. You spend nearly every day on shore and there are certainly plenty of excursions to choose from, both from the ship and independently, whether on land or in the sea.

The next cruise is always the best!

The ship was nice, but it was the ports of call that made the trip.

Not a trip for young kids at all.

If your teen likes non-stop sun and swimming when ashore, it will be fine.

On our trip in September there were very few passengers under 21 ( I can only remember one family with kids, but there must have been others).

The South Pacific is like no other place on this Earth. It is hard to believe that we share the planet with a place as gorgeous and serene as that. I think it is the perfect place to cruise.

The ship is gorgeous! It is small, so it has an intimate feel to it, and you run into the same people everyday - I loved that feeling. The interiors are a warm-wood so the ship is very "English" in its style. Hubby thought the casino was a little on the small side, but I thought it was fine. As long as you enjoy smaller ships you will enjoy the TP.

My only caveat - if you or your friend is not into water-activities, you may run into some issues. I found the entire cruise and all the excursions to be extremely water-intensive - which is fine for us as hubby and I love to snorkel and have our own equipment. The only day we weren't in the water was the day we did the 4x4 tour in Bora Bora. If you have somebody in your party who is not comfortable in the water, I am not sure if the long plane ride and cruise would be worth it. Also - the currents are extremely strong in the South Pacific, so I think people need to be intermediate swimmers at the least (most tours through Princess are clearly labeled with this information). I was okay, but hubby had a problem with some of the currents on some of the islands. Any tour labeled as a "drift snorkel" is just that - you drift with the currents and better be strong enough of a swimmer to be able to swim out of danger's way (I still have nightmares about those black creatures with the long spikes ).

All that being said - hubby and I are planning our returning for our 5th anniversary! We are just waiting for the 2008 schedule to be published!!!

Hi,
For another poster, I just bumped up two threads from our March 8th sailing. One is by New York Lady and one by myself. Have a look, there's quite a bit of info on them! Also, check out the thread about an expert needed, as I posted some links to FP message boards for you to check out!
