Favorite Beaches -Caribbean / Bahamas?

Looking for suggestions of favorite beaches to go to from Caribbean/Bahamian cruise ports.

My favorites are Trunk Bay (St. John), Lac Bay (Bonaire), Half Moon Cay (Holland America private island), Cane Garden Bay (Tortola) and Gold Rock Beach (Freeport).

Cruiseapril, the first beach that pops into my head as a favorite is Trunk Bay on St. John. Unfortunately, the ferry and bus ride to get there from St. Thomas is lengthy which means you don't get nearly enough beach time.

I like Orient Beach in St Maarten, Parrot Tree Cove in Honduras, and the Margarittaville beach and club in Grand turk.

Dawn Beach and Baie Rouge in St. Maarten/Martin; Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island, Nassau; Trunk Bay St. John; Cane Garden Tortola.

Siesta Key in Sarasota, FL is overall my fave I have been to beaches all over the world - nothing beats it for me.

Trunk Bay also gets my vote, I think its rated # 3 in the world by some travel magazine. Hmmm.... I think its been far too long since my last visit, St Johns it's time for a revisit!

Very best beach- Playa Flamenco on Culebra Island. But I don't think any port calls in San Juan would be long enough to visit that beach. Maybe before or after a cruise home ported in San Juan. It really is beautiful and worth the effort.

Having a port stop in St. Thomas so we can go to Trunk Bay on St. John is always a favorite of ours. :)

Another vote for Trunk Bay and Cane Garden Bay.

I enjoy Orient but not maybe the greatest beach for leisurely swimming.

 

Carlisle Bay in Barbados - my absolute favorite.

No need for anyone to to scold me for (again) stating the obvious, but OP, have you spent any time over on the Port of Call boards?

 

Opinions, pros, and cons of bars, beaches, transportation and other activities are all discussed at length for each island.

 

A little time spent reading through each one (no need to go past the first page; people tend to ask the same questions every few weeks...) will give you a great overview of each port and you can draw your own conclusions.

 

That said, my favorite beach is Playa Porto Mari in Curacao.

 

Least favorite are the manufactured, walled in, man made ones - for example Renaissance on Aruba, Mambo / Seaquarium on Curacao, Mahogany Bay in Honduras.

Read the port forums often. Have read many Caribbean guidebooks.

 

It is still good to get direct suggestions from other beach enthusiasts.

 

 

As to the Maine beaches- we walk them, enjoy them, but cruise to the Caribbean for the beaches and warmth.
