Flight home

We usually try to book a flight after noon, and if we get there early, we ask about getting on an earlier flight, standby, without paying any extra fee. We have been accommodated all but one time, and this has been the case whether we are flying coach, or first, that we had paid cash or used frequent flyer miles. It's just a bonus if we get home earlier, but still okay if we get home when originally planned.

Hawaii - On the Island

Forgive me if this isn't the proper forum for this question but I am wondering about FLL. We are returning from our October sailing via FLL for the second time. Last year we returned on a Sunday, middle of November.

I can only describe the experience as hellish! The place was utter chaos. Security barked at the passengers with more gusto than my drill instructor in the Air Force. Lines wound WAY out the door. We waited over 3 hours to get through security. The whole operation seemed extremely disorganized.

Am dreading going through that again. Is it always that way?!
