golfb4cruzing Posted April 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2016 I thought we were hitting on the next trip but the requirements are hazy. Does one reach Platinum with 6th trip, 51+ days or is both needed? The description states and/or, therefore the confusion on my part. Thanks for the clarification. A.stew12305 Posted April 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) You are platinum on your 6th, that's when you will see the benefits. Edited April 16, 2016 by A.stew12305
pms4104 Posted April 16, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2016 You will achieve platinum after you have earned 5 ctuise credits or after you have sailed 50 days, whichever comes first. Suites earn double cruise credits, as do solos.
Cruisin' Chick Posted April 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2016 When going by the number of cruises, you obtain Platinum at the end of your fifth cruise. So on your sixth cruise, you are Platinum. There's also a way to obtain the status by the number of days you've been on a Princess ship...but it's at the end of that cruise. You don't change status during a cruise. You can also get some points by booking a full suite or going solo.
colonialinnkeeper Posted April 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2016 Either from 6th cruise or 51st day. You may hit both on the same cruise but only one is needed.
golfb4cruzing Posted April 16, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted April 16, 2016 Thanks everyone. Panama Canal won't get us to 51+ this year. So next year it will be. Hooray.
Lucky TGO Posted April 16, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 16, 2016 Thanks everyone. Panama Canal won't get us to 51+ this year. So next year it will be. Hooray. Happy for you the Plainum Benefits are good. I think you get the Plainum card at the end of your Panama cruise it will be sent to your cabin. :) Tony
paul929207 Posted April 16, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 16, 2016 Status changes occur at the end of each cruise. So if you are qualifying for Platinum by number of days, you will not advance in the middle of a cruise.

paul929207 Posted April 17, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 17, 2016 The main benefit is the internet credit.
Robinsoncruiseso Posted April 17, 2016 #13 Share Posted April 17, 2016 Thanks everyone. Panama Canal won't get us to 51+ this year. So next year it will be. Hooray. Looking at your cruise history, you have five cruises under your belt and should be Platinum now. Take a look at your cruise history on your account to make sure they are all listed. If some are missing, contact Captains Circle via telephone. They are most helpful.
golfb4cruzing Posted April 17, 2016 Author #14 Share Posted April 17, 2016 October 2016 Princess trip is our 5th. So next years will be 6 and start trip as a Platinum. If I understand everyone correctly.

LeeW Posted April 18, 2016 #16 Share Posted April 18, 2016 (edited) Or you could take a one or three day repo in September (Seattle/Vancouver) and be platinum for your October cruise... This is really more useful getting to elite, which adds laundry and one-time minibar setups. Even if only one person has the status he/she gets the internet minutes or the elite perks. Our son did a one day solo followed by a three day solo (different ship to be legal), giving him 4 credits toward elite. arizonaperson Posted April 18, 2016 #17 Share Posted April 18, 2016 Thanks everyone. Panama Canal won't get us to 51+ this year. So next year it will be. Hooray. I would take a short cruise before Oct. 2016 (your Panama trip )so that you will have platinum status during your longer trip. Julie

DH has two 7 day cruises, one 15 day cruise and one 14 day cruise which equals 4 cruises with a total of 43 days... Still Ruby.
Lucky TGO Posted April 18, 2016 #19 Share Posted April 18, 2016 From your 6th -15th cruise or 51-150 cruise days. Congratulations you made it Platinum Level. :D You will be Elite before you know it good luck and have a great cruise. Tony
Rare geoherb Posted April 18, 2016 #20 Share Posted April 18, 2016 Suites earn double cruise credits, as do solos.Booking a suite will earn you an extra credit. Booking a cabin as a solo will earn you an extra credit. So a solo in a suite would earn three credits.
