purpletequila Posted April 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2016 Pretty sure this is it. All rooms get a photo package, $100 arcade credit and friends/families sail free. OV, balconies and MS get a pick one from UBP, shore excursions or wi-fi. Suites and haven get 4 offers which isn't very clear but that's what the ad shows. In effect through 5/

CruisinHarvey Posted April 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2016 $100 arcade credit and a photo package? They really want all the passengers in those little arcades? They're not built for that . I'm sure they think most folks won't that. The photo package is a joke. Have never bought a single picture. They are really overpriced. I have a cell phone, video cam, camera and photo shop! I guess we'll wait for the wave season again. I kind of understand to the insides now being excluded from other offers, since they are lowest cost. I do feel sorry for the studio folks though. It was supposed to be a benefit to have studios. Now they'll miss the promo's? Not sure now much they'll actually save.

No clue what I would do with a $100 arcade credit cause I sure in the world wouldn't use it. Hmmm.....do you think those machines at the front of the casino that you guide the Key through and try to win the $$$ hanging there counts as an arcade game? They have similar ones in the arcade that kids try to win an IPOD or something on. We have seen a lot of people swiping their key card again and again trying to win those. watchdiva Posted April 29, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2016 Glad that both my 2016 Alaska and 2017 Panama Canal cruises have the best perks of all when booked in early 2015 (full gratuities, UBP, UDP, WiFi and ShoreEx..no UBP for PC cruise). Zero interest in sail free offers or UBP and definitely not interested in photo package. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

They have similar ones in the arcade that kids try to win an IPOD or something on. We have seen a lot of people swiping their key card again and again trying to win those. I would think the "Key Master" machine is part of the casino and is considered gambling, with those $1,000 packets of cash it has in it. BTW, someone always seems to win the 1,000 too. Not me though... I won't even try it.

purpletequila Posted April 29, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted April 29, 2016 Awesome info. Where did you see this? Someone on a NCL Facebook group posted it. They had what looked like the front page of the web site/an actual picture of it so it definitely looks legit.

If you are using the app you can click reply and click the picture image and attach it there. I'm not a member of any NCL fb group. I'll have to look into that. Was seriously thinking about upgrading our PC cruise in Dec. but won't do that now and risk losing our drink and 5 night dinner packages. This new promo does nothing for us. Have no idea what I would do with the arcade credit and not interested in the photo package. Might be a good deal for someone traveling with kids though. Maybe that is the point......attract more families.
sweetride Posted April 30, 2016 #15 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Hmmm.....do you think those machines at the front of the casino that you guide the Key through and try to win the $$$ hanging there counts as an arcade game? They have similar ones in the arcade that kids try to win an IPOD or something on. We have seen a lot of people swiping their key card again and again trying to win those. They can try all they want, its a rigged game. So are the claw games in the arcade. They only let someone win once it takes in a certain amount of money (as much as $9999). They can also reset that clock at any point so it would never pay out. If you see something missing from the case someone didn't necessarily win it. The person with the keys can take items out to make it look like someone won

Rare mking8288 Posted April 30, 2016 #17 Share Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) Now, that's a pretty good "proof" as evidence of what's coming around the corner. Thanks !! Somehow, I seemed to have trouble visualizing grandma & grandpa, traveling without their grandkids, at the video arcade and finding something of interest to take "advantage" of that free $100 arcade credit. Transfer that to the casino as gaming credit or bingo credit, that's a different story and should be more popular. Just maybe, maybe, this could be saving money for parents who otherwise would be paying for all those arcade games for kids sailing along - especially during the summer months or during school breaks. And, how much is that photo package worth ?? In all fairness, it's probably comparable to the good old $25 OBC typically given by NCL for booking an "Inside" & some will see it as getting more values. :D Edited April 30, 2016 by mking8288

TowerOrchard Posted April 30, 2016 #19 Share Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) Hmmm.... I see an asterisk after the "friends and family sail free" line. I wonder what kind of limitations come with that? Edited April 30, 2016 by TowerOrchard
ilovetotravel1977 Posted April 30, 2016 #20 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Just wondering if I can put a 24 hour hold on a cruise with NCL today just so I can see what the promo will actually be tomorrow? Then I can decide whether to put a deposit down or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
hawkeyetlse Posted April 30, 2016 #21 Share Posted April 30, 2016 That's what they are counting on.;)I think what they are counting on also is that parents/grandparents will let their kids run wild in the arcade thinking they have all this credit. Not realizing that they will blow through that $100 in a couple of hours, and by then the arcade will be their favorite place on board and they will want to spend the entire cruise in there. Casino Comp Chick Posted April 30, 2016 #22 Share Posted April 30, 2016 I would think the "Key Master" machine is part of the casino and is considered gambling, with those $1,000 packets of cash it has in it. BTW, someone always seems to win the 1,000 too. Not me though... I won't even try it. I have always thought the workers clear a few "wins" out overnight to draw the people into thinking people win and they should make a donation. negn Posted April 30, 2016 #23 Share Posted April 30, 2016 I'm keeping track of the cruise prices. Interested to see how they are effected with the change in promos. Would think that without the "free" dining and prices would go down: but with NCL who can figure.beverage Personally, not interested in any of the new ones
melis11577 Posted April 30, 2016 #24 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Do you know if the friends and family will be for cruises booked into 2017 ...this deal looks good for us since we sail with kids
karen_cpa Posted April 30, 2016 #25 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Umm, depending on the dates this might work for us since DH wants to take the kids in 2017. I am curious if the SDP will be one of the perks, doesn't seem to indicate that.
