cincychad Posted May 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2016 Any suggestions on where to stay in Miami a day or two before our cruise. Not looking to break the bank but would like a reasonably nice place to stay. Miami Beach looks fairly close to the port.
Rare Turtles06 Posted May 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2016 Plenty of suggestions on the Florida Departures board, where this thread may well get moved.
CruisinHarvey Posted May 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2016 (edited) It's really based on what you want to do. South Beach is very active. There's lot of boutique hotels there. If you want to stay close to the port. We like to stay at the Intercontinental. It's next to the Bayside Marketplace. We're staying at the Hampton Inn Brickell for our next cruise. It will be our 3rd time there. It has a good gastro pub next door and a nice free breakfast. It's rated #1 on tripadvisor. You'd a think, a Hampton Inn? I'm guessing since you're traveling with a 3 year old, South Beach may not be the best locale. BarbieB227 Posted May 9, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2016 I love the Urbano Hotel. Small hotel with a pool and bar. You feel like the only one there. There for a couple days rent a car and tour the city.
Tarheel_Cruiser Posted May 9, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2016 We always stay at the Holiday Inn - Port of Miami. The Bayside Marketplace is right across the street and it's a great place to walk around. Bubba Gump's is right across the street too. Also ... if you get a room on one of the upper floors, you get a great view of the cruise ships in the morning. Getting a taxi to the port is easy and fast. I also like that it is near a cvs and a Walgreens for those last minute things you want to bring on cruise. I liked having dinner and walking over to Bayside and seeing all the ships from the hotel room.

MikeBTN Posted May 10, 2016 #11 Share Posted May 10, 2016 (edited) Another vote for Intercontinental. Staying there in 10 days. Only a few minutes from port, walkable restaurants, nice hotel. Its usually the 4.5 downtown Miami "express deal" on Priceline. Edited May 10, 2016 by MikeBTN
