I know most on land have to go to school to learn how same on ship??? don't want to have one if they aren't licensed or know what they are doing.. CHEZMARYLOU Posted May 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2016 I've had many good massages on Celebrity's ships both from their original spa contractor and Canyon Ranch. Comparing them to what I get at home, the ships massages are better but also a lot more money.
leaveitallbehind Posted May 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2016 (edited) To be clear they are not ship employees but are a third party contracted service. They are licensed and trained through the spa company that is under contract with the cruise line. Edited May 22, 2016 by leaveitallbehind
Langley Cruisers Posted May 22, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 22, 2016 Yes, I would assume they are licensed and trained, but I wouldn't call them "massage therapists". Registered massage therapists (RMT) go to school and have extensive training. In my area, they are used as a supplement to medical care and are covered/reimbursable through extended medical coverage. They are different than people in spas who give massages. :)

swedish weave Posted May 23, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 23, 2016 (edited) Yes, they are trained therapists. Have you checked their credentials ??? Did you pay them for this information ???? I ask questions instead of making false comments. Edited May 23, 2016 by swedish weave
