Paul65 Posted June 3, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2016 We r on the anthem going to Bermuda and wanted to be sure we did not need yellow fever , or any other shots The best place to look for this kind of advice is the CDC travel information website. They do not recommend yellow fever vaccine for Bermuda. They do suggest Hep A and, if you'll be in staying in rural areas or are and "adventurous eater," Typhoid. Those are both food-borne illnesses, and the immunizations are not really a must for a short-time cruise visitor, if you're careful about what/where you eat. If you travel around much at all, though, it's a good idea in general to be vaccinated against Hep A & B. If it's just for a single cruise stop in Bermuda, probably not worth it. BND Posted June 3, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) All we ever do for the Caribbean, Bahamas or Bermuda is make sure our tetanus is up to date. LOL Bermuda is hardly a third world country. Yellow fever is found in South America and Africa. Bermuda is more like South Carolina than a tropical locale. It's a strange illness to be concerned with considering the other mosquito borne illnesses that are common in the tropics, which Bermuda isn't part of. Kamloops50 Posted June 3, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Very few cruises require vaccinations . Talk to your local travel clinic or doctor to find out what vaccines you should anyway no matter where you go.
OCruisers Posted June 3, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 3, 2016 No reason to get a Yellow Fever shot for Bermuda.
jagsfan Posted June 3, 2016 #9 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Bermuda is in a temperate zone, off the coast of South Carolina. You don't need yellow fever vaccine for the Caribbean, either. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
