These offers are generally targeted offers based on individual accounts, so even cards of the same type may not have the same offers. My Hilton Hhonors Surpass card did not have the offer as reference.

We booked a 2018 cruise about a month ago. When we saw this offer, we just made a payment on the remaining balance on that cruise.

You can also book during their special 5% percent on travel in the months of January - March can't you - I can't remember which months?

 

This Discover Card travel discount is not offered every year and when it is offered, it is not always the first quarter. There is also a limit of how many $$$ you can get back.

Yes, now with the new *ostco charge card I've been checking out prices and they are beating Discover with the OBC. I may be switching soon...very soon. Going to apply on the 16th as that's when the new Citibank cards will be available at *ostco. I'm up to looking at all options. Looking for Hawaii specifically.

 

The new Citibank Visa card that will be replacing the AmEx card bumps the travel rebate percentage up from 2% to 3% (beginning 6/20/16, when the card is effective.)
