ted1994 Posted June 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2016 Hi does anyone know alcohol limits for taking on board? Are you allowed to take spirits on? Thanks Georgea Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
anniebea Posted June 17, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2016 My Brother in Law bought a bottle of gin in Corfu on our last cruise and there was no problem bringing it back on board.
sammybonny Posted June 17, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2016 You can take on as much as you like (within reason) both at embarkation and in ports but only for consumption in your cabin.
the english lady Posted June 17, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2016 Yes you can take on what you like with in reason-crates and crates of beer may raise a few eyebrows. I take on a wine box..in my hand luggage.. You can restock at ports you stop at. As has been posted this is for in cabin consumption only. If you take wine into the mdr you will be charged approx. £15 corkage..i think.
Rare Presto2 Posted June 17, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2016 Compared to the US lines it is great - few restrictions :) We have taken a box of wine and, at other ports or on wine tours, sometimes we have taken as many as an extra 8 bottles. These are to take home or drink in your cabin - otherwise there is a charge, which is fair. It is also good that you can buy spirits on board and drink it in your cabin if you so wish. :)
The Med Posted June 17, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 17, 2016 When going from Southampton is it ok to put in your hand luggage? Do they have a liquid restriction like on an aircraft?
Vampire Parrot Posted June 17, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2016 I would put bottles only in hand luggage! I'd never put a bottle in checked-in luggage.... VP

tartanexile81 Posted June 17, 2016 #13 Share Posted June 17, 2016 We usually take a litre of vodka and 2 bottles of champagne. We also take mixers and lemon as they're more expensive than the alcohol on the ship :D We order ice from room service

VP Conversely, we always place ours in our checked-in bags (for flights too); couldn't possibly put it in hand luggage - too heavy to carry! ;)
