Aussie Gal Posted October 23, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2005 We will be sailing on the Regal in a couple of months and have booked a mini suite. I am wondering if the new beds are so comfortable that one does not need to order an egg crate mattress. On HAL they have recently replaced all the beds with great Sealy beds. Does anyone know what the ones on Princess are and are they soft, hard or in between? I suffer from a lower back problem that is exasperated from very hard beds and I want to make sure that on this long cruise that if an egg crate is needed I can request one early. Thanks. Rare Coral Posted October 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2005 I was just in a minisuite on the Golden with supposedly new beds. I thought they were hard and I requested an egg crate mattress pad (which greatly helped). The new sheets and duvets were wonderful! The new mattresses are "top of the line beautyrest mattresses". DiamondDiva Posted October 24, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2005 We also returned recently from the Golden (Sept24-Oct1) and our bed in D503 was replaced while we were on the ship. It is a top-of- the line mattress, but I found it somewhat hard and we requested the egg crate be left on. It was then very comfortable for both of us and we have different "likes" as to hard/soft beds.
Aussie Gal Posted October 24, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted October 24, 2005 Coral and Diamond Diva, Thank you both for your prompt replies. You have made my mind up. I will definitely be requesting the Egg Crate top. Jennie
