Non-alcoholic beer?

Recommended Posts

I just had a bad experience with O'Doul's.

This past May we did a B2B out of Copenhagen on the Serenade.

In the past I have always been able to get O'Doul's.

We're DP but when I asked for O'Doul's in the Concierge Lounge they said it was not on the beer list and not available to us in the lounge.

I even went to a bar to use it as one of my 3 drinks and they also said , the computer says it is not on the list of approved drinks and would not give me one.

Strangely they had non-alcoholic wine and Champaign. So I had that.

Now they serve Champaign, but technically it is not on the list.

Now, we just came off the Oasis this month and they had a drawer full of O'Doul's, no problem. They did not have non-alcoholic wine.

I hope this is just a one ship thing on the Serenade only. I did complain to our Loyalty Ambassador. She called bar service and they confirmed it was not available to us.

Yes...but why not drink water? I've never seen the point of NON-alcoholic anything!

Non-alcoholic wine is grape juice....Welch's will do, I reckon!

Then do not drink it.

For some people, non-alcoholic drinks are all they can have. Seeing as you haven't had any, you really are clueless on taste. The Fre NA wines are quite good and not at all like grape juice.

So opinions are ubiquitous, but sometimes the right thing to say, is nothing at all.

Non alcoholic beer contains some alcohol. That may be important to those who are attempting to avoid all alcohol (like me).

Our last RCCL cruise was the last Quantum Trans Atlantic (2015) and my DH drank quite a few NA beers. We are D+ and it was available in the lounges and at the bars with 3 drinks on card during happy hour. He likes to keep the amount of alcohol he consumes to a minimum and starting with an NA beer stretches his happy hour.

We are just off 21 days on Celebrity and had no problems getting NA beers during Elite happy hour. We were able to get NA beer on the Classic drink package after discussing the situation with the Bar Manager. The cash register rang up O'Douls as more expensive than Heinie light.

Together with the non-smoking casino this policy change may make us switch cruise lines.

I know the money goes to the same company anyway but I am disappointed to hear this about RCCL.

O'Doul's is a cheap beer shore side so it must be a storage problem.

We will see how it goes in November on Liberty of the Seas.

Non-alcoholic wine is not grape juice. It is actually wine that has had the alcohol removed by distillation or another method. The taste is nothing like juice. It is a great option for people who enjoy the taste of wine and want to indulge without the alcohol, for health or other reasons.
