Grand leaving SF Which side?

Leaving on Grand in a few weeks out of San Francisco. What side will we pass Alcatraz Island? We have a port balcony (left side) but we will go up on deck if we pass it on our starboard side. We are traveling with another couple so we are trying to coordinate where to be when sailing under GG Bridge.

Starboard. But better to be on the bow or aft so you can take in both the San Frncisco skyline and Alcatraz.

Triptolemus,

In April we had almost the same cabin but up on Lido deck. It was fun to watch the activities on the bridge of the ship. Anyway, since we cruise in and out of SF pretty frequently, this time we just stayed on our balcony and watched the city view and the GG bridge as we passed. Just about where your last photo was shot, we saw two whales along side of us. It was the beginning of our great season of whale watching here along the coast.
