mg194 Posted July 11, 2016 #54 Share Posted July 11, 2016 My wife and I are in that same suite in a few weeks. You didn't happen to hide a stack of hundred dollar bills around for some lucky future cruiser did you? Seriously, was the location quiet and convenient for everything? Thanks, Mark

Britbrie Posted July 18, 2016 Author #58 Share Posted July 18, 2016 Sorry for the delay in update everyone! I have been crazy busy this week, with lots going on. Without further delay... Day 3- Sea Day We decided to start our relaxing day at sea with a breakfast burrito from Blue Iguana. I love that the burrito bar features a wide array of hot sauces and salsas! For my burrito, I got a jalapeño wrap with chicken sausage/eggs/cheese/veggies/and salsa. It was delicious! I wish i would've visited the Blue Iguana Burrito bar more during the cruise... The seating area: After breakfast, we wanted to go walk through the Fun Shops and check out the items for sale. I fell in love with the Michael Kor's watches, and these beautiful gems. We shopped for a little while, and then went to the midship elevators to head up to the Emerald Steakhouse for the Cooking Demo. Elevators during this cruise were not doing so great... we saw several elevators with signs in them stating they were not operable at the time. Britbrie Posted July 18, 2016 Author #59 Share Posted July 18, 2016 We arrived at the Steakhouse, and viewed an excellent presentation on several dishes. The first dish we were given was Mushroom Cappuccino... and OMG was it amazing!! I cannot wait to try to cook it at home, once I finally have time. haha. After tasting of this dish, they gave us a spinach salad with bleu cheese dressing. I hate bleu cheese, so apparently this prohibited me from even taking a picture of it. Mom said that it was delicious, however. Next, we received chicken with macaroni and cheese, and potatoes. Similarly to the mushroom cappuccino, the macaroni and cheese was life changing! At the conclusion of this presentation, they gave everyone tiramisu. Mine was wayyyy too sweet, but still delicious. Not surprisingly, we were stuffed by the end of this demo. By this time, the Slot Tournament was happening so I went and purchased an entry ticket. While waiting for my round, we waited in the EA Sports Bar and relaxed. Britbrie Posted July 18, 2016 Author #60 Share Posted July 18, 2016 There were two people from my round that made it to the top of the leaderboard, but I was not one of them. My mom's aunt wanted to go to the Hairy Chest Competition, so we went up there to watch. The Competition seemed to go on for quite a long time, so I joined the line to get a Guy's Burger. No... I do not have an obsession. Don't judge me. Mom and her aunt were still watching the competition, so I enjoyed my burger solo. Afterwards, they decided to check out the buffet for lunch. Mom's plate: I grabbed some fruit, and hot tea for dessert... which was delicious! We wanted to go back to the room to relax for a little bit, and do some laundry... When we got to our door, we saw that one of my mom's aunts had decorated our door. Being that most of the family we traveled with lived in Tennessee, they enjoyed taunting me with this awful traffic cone orange they enjoy wearing. As a graduate of LSU, I immediately wanted to remove the signs... but didn't. Instead, I sought out retaliation towards my uncle... who is a diehard Volunteer fan. (gross). Britbrie Posted July 18, 2016 Author #61 Share Posted July 18, 2016 After seeing these awful decorations, I went to my Uncle's room to see if his door had been decorated as well. Of course it had... so I fixed them. :p Geaux Tigers!!! Afterwards, we went back to the room and rested before dinner. It was elegant night, so we fixed our hair and went to the Platinum Dining Room. Britbrie Posted July 18, 2016 Author #62 Share Posted July 18, 2016 I decided to be adventurous and try something new... Shrimp Cocktail. I know, I know... it was out of character for me to order such a delicacy... :) For entrees, most of the table ordered Shrimp and Lobster... My Uncle's Son In Law ordered 8 plates of lobster. No Kidding. I would have to be carried out of the dining room on a stretcher if I ate that much lobster. I ordered the Prime Rib, which was pretty great. Britbrie Posted July 18, 2016 Author #63 Share Posted July 18, 2016 For dessert I got the diet Coffee Cream Cake, which was very good! Once dinner was over, the entire family went to watch the Divas show. The Cruise Director, Eric, was excellent! He was always participating, and trying to get more audience involvement. Britbrie Posted July 18, 2016 Author #64 Share Posted July 18, 2016 Following the show everyone went their separate ways... Mom and I went to the casino for a few minutes and then decided to head to the room to get some rest. I was kind of hungry, as I didn't eat much of my steak at dinner... so I ordered the Chicken Tenders for $5 from room service. The chicken tenders were not really worth $5... they were super crunchy and hard. But, I ate them and they weren't completely awful. We also had a towel animal monkey waiting for us... and Carnival gave me a $25 wine credit for my birthday. Very nice of them!! After watching a movie and eating my tenders, we went to sleep in order to be well rested for the next day in St. John! I will definitely try to update ASAP, but law school starts tomorrow... so bear with me everyone! :) Thank you for reading thus far!

Britbrie Posted July 31, 2016 Author #69 Share Posted July 31, 2016 I'm back y'all! Sorry for the delay for anyone reading this, I had law school orientation for the last few weeks. I have a week off, so I am going to definitely try to wrap this up this week! Without further delay, Day 3- St. Thomas! We have been to St. Thomas several times before, and have always enjoyed our time there. We went on the St. John Trunk Bay excursion last year, and loved it so much we decided to go again this year! While everyone woke up and got ready for the day, I went out onto the balcony and took some quick pictures of St. Thomas. Mom and I went up to the lido for a quick breakfast. The lines were crazy long, so we just grabbed some fruit and went down to Deck 0 to exit the ship. The Magic was also in port with us today, but things didn't seem busy at all in the port. Once off the Glory, we walked to the end of the pier to board the Island Girl for our excursion to St. John. Onboard the Island Girl, we sat inside with the air conditioning and could purchase beverages for a few bucks. It was a short 40 minute ride to St. John, and once we arrived, we boarded open air taxis to get to Trunk Bay.
Britbrie Posted July 31, 2016 Author #70 Share Posted July 31, 2016 The views along the way to St. John were spectacular. We could even see St. Croix off in the distance! Our driver was the same as last year, but unlike last year he did not pause very long for us to take pictures. Once we got to the view point overlooking Trunk Bay, it started raining directly over the beach. Unfortunately, I couldn't get as spectacular of a shot like I did last year... but if you want to see the amazing shot from last year the link to my trip report is in my signature under 2015. Britbrie Posted July 31, 2016 Author #71 Share Posted July 31, 2016 Another view of a very stormy Trunk Bay Fortunately, by the time we arrived there was no more rain! We immediately went to the beach, and got in the water, which was very cold. Meanwhile, my uncle and his wife went to get hamburgers which were around $9.00 or so. We swam for a little while, and dad went and snorkeled some. After a few short hours, we had to get back on our taxi to head back to the Island Girl. The view on the way back... Everyone on the Island Girl began to fall asleep, it was pretty funny to see everyone worn out from their beach day. We got back to the ship fairly quickly, so mom and I decided to go order room service and take showers. Dad stayed behind in St. Thomas to take some pictures... While mom took a shower I ordered room service... She got the turkey sandwich, while I ordered the philly cheesesteak and fries for $5.00. After our lunch, we went to watch the sail away from the island and relaxed for a while. Before we knew it, it was time for dinner. For appetizers, I ordered the prosciutto ruffles and melon... which was very good.
Britbrie Posted July 31, 2016 Author #72 Share Posted July 31, 2016 And of course I had to order a shrimp cocktail... Mom got the bbq ribs, which she said were very good. I ordered the fried chicken, which wasn't that great... The dessert menu: I ordered the Mango Cream Cake, which was one of my favorite desserts of the whole trip... After dinner, the family went different ways. Most of us went to see Eric's (the cruise director) magic show. He was pretty entertaining, and fun to watch. The show lasted around an hour, and we went to the comedy show in the Punchliner Comedy Club... Once the show was over, mom and I went to get a drink at the bar and then back to the room for some rest.

Britbrie Posted August 2, 2016 Author #75 Share Posted August 2, 2016 Time to cover my favorite port, Puerto Rico!! This day we arrived in PR pretty early, like 7 am early! :eek:We got ready and went up to get breakfast burritos from Blue Iguana. After breakfast, we went down to meet my mom's aunt. Last year in PR, we walked to Castillo San Cristobal and toured it on our own... so we kind of knew that we wanted to go to the other fort. We made our way off of the ship, and found the trolley stop. The free trolley is a bus that takes you to various stops throughout San Juan... the forts are included. The first stop is right off of the ship, just walk straight and you'll find it across the street! The trolley did not take too long to show up, and was a short 15 minute ride through SJ. We arrived at Castillo San Felipe del Morro, and made our way up the hill to tour. The admission fee is $5.00, and includes entrance into both forts in San Juan. It is definitely worth it! The views are spectacular!
