CARNIVALCRUISE3 Posted July 5, 2016 #27 Share Posted July 5, 2016 Great review and pictures! I can't wait to read the rest. I have sailed on the Glory twice, and sailing on her for a 3rd time in August!
declansdad Posted July 5, 2016 #28 Share Posted July 5, 2016 We were on the Glory in late December/early January. Great ship, loved our cruise. We didn't have the Half Moon Cay stop though, we went to Amber Cove. We also stayed at the Intercontinental. Fantastic hotel and a great location. Makes it even better when you get upgraded to a suite when you book on points.
Rare sparks1093 Posted July 5, 2016 #29 Share Posted July 5, 2016 Great review! Only have to wait a year and a half to sail on Glory (but it looks like it's worth the wait:)).

Britbrie Posted July 7, 2016 Author #38 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Thanks to everyone for reading my review so far! We woke up on Day 2 prior to our 9 am arrival time, and went up to the Lido deck to eat breakfast. But first, it was selfie time! Mom and I grabbed a breakfast burrito from Blue Iguana, while dad ate some coffee cake. After breakfast, we received notification to meet in the Amber Palace to wait on our tender. Once we arrived down there, they were taking all of the shore excursion ticket holders off the ship. It was a short process, and we were on our way to Half Moon Cay! After a short tender ride, we arrived at the check in area for our cabana. They had a very nice themed bar area at the front of Half Moon Cay, as well as a small shopping area with local handcrafted goods. We were told to grab the shuttle that would drop us off at our cabana. After a few stops, we arrived at Cabana #10!
Britbrie Posted July 7, 2016 Author #39 Share Posted July 7, 2016 With the purchase of a cabana, you receive a tray of veggies, fruit, chips and guacamole, 2 large waters, and 8 soft drinks of your choosing. The Cabana also had an air conditioner, misting fan, two lounge chairs, a table with four chairs, snorkel gear, and four floats for the water. Our cabana, #10, was very conveniently located near the restrooms, as well as the beach bbq. Of course at our arrival time, and most of the day actually, there was minimal amounts of people near our cabana. It was almost like having our own private beach! They have several villas available for rent, and several of them seemed to be empty the entire day. We would have definitely rented one for the entire family, but they told us they were sold out! Oh well.
Britbrie Posted July 7, 2016 Author #40 Share Posted July 7, 2016 It was a gorgeous day, and we were loving our time at Half Moon Cay. We relaxed in the water for several hours, and snacked on our snacks throughout the day. It was an amazing experience! We decided to take a break from swimming, and go check out the BBQ. We took the short walk, and discovered they had salads of all kinds (pasta, lettuce, potato, etc.) as well as chicken, burgers, hot dogs, and various desserts. We grabbed our plates, and brought soft drinks with us from the cabana. Along the way, dad and I took pictures of the island. To Be Continued... I'll try to finish up Day 2 after I come home from work tonight! Thanks to anyone reading!

kylesplash Posted July 7, 2016 #42 Share Posted July 7, 2016 (edited) Once we arrived at our gate, mom and I decided to grab something to eat. I had previously eaten at Zatarain's Kitchen for lunch a few months before this trip, so we decided to try it out for breakfast. Both of ordered a Breakfast Po-boy with Bacon. The sandwich turned out to be more bacon than anything. I tried to pick off most of the bacon, and ate what I could... but it was not good. That sandwich looks like a dream come true! Thanks for posting, I am enjoying all of the photos. Edited July 7, 2016 by kylesplash
Rare sparks1093 Posted July 7, 2016 #43 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Wow! HMC looks amazing! Will definitely have to schedule a cruise with it on the itinerary. How often do ships miss HMC because of weather, anyone know?
Britbrie Posted July 10, 2016 Author #44 Share Posted July 10, 2016 I'm in this pic! White shirt at the BlueIguana Bar. Hey, that is pretty awesome! Thanks for reading. haha. That sandwich looks like a dream come true! Thanks for posting, I am enjoying all of the photos. If you like bacon, you would be in heaven eating it. Thank you for reading! Wow! HMC looks amazing! Will definitely have to schedule a cruise with it on the itinerary. How often do ships miss HMC because of weather, anyone know? HMC is GORGEOUS. It is definitely a must do in life. I have heard of them missing ports due to wind, but its a tender port so I'm really not sure! Hopefully someone else has that answer! Thanks for reading! Britbrie Posted July 10, 2016 Author #45 Share Posted July 10, 2016 The BBQ area had many different pavilions and places to sit. While walking to get in line, a very angry rooster began to chase me. I'm not a fan of chickens, roosters, etc... so I threw bread at it, and it left me alone. haha. I have issues, I know. :p After eating a very burnt hamburger, it was definitely no Guy's Burger... that's for sure, I walked back to the cabana to relax for a little bit. We continued to swim for a little while and then decided to go back to the ship to take showers. Along the way, my dad snapped some great shots of the island:

Britbrie Posted July 10, 2016 Author #47 Share Posted July 10, 2016 They even had a pirate ship playground area for kids, it was super cute. I wish we could have stayed for the whole cruise at least! Half Moon Cay is so pretty! Once back at the front of Half Moon Cay, they had foot washing stations located prior to entering the line to get back on the ship. The only problem was that there were only two of them, so things got kind of hectic. They also had some local craft booths set up, which we glanced over briefly. Britbrie Posted July 10, 2016 Author #48 Share Posted July 10, 2016 After washing the sand off of our feet, mom and I entered the line. We got towards the front until mom realized my dad had her Sail and Sign card. He was no where around at the time, and the line was growing longer and longer. Finally he showed up, and we were through security on our way back to the Glory! The tender was pretty packed, so we walked up to the top and took a seat. Once back on the ship, we went back to the room to clean up and rest some before dinner. Mom and I took short naps, and then got ready for dinner. At this point let me complain a little bit about Early Seating dinner... I found that 6 pm was somewhat too early for me to even be hungry enough to eat. Most of the time, I didn't really eat my entree and would end up being hungry later. The pros to Early Seating is that there are a lot more opportunities to do fun entertainment related things around the ship in the evening. So, once at dinner our waiter brought out my diet coke and took our orders. Mom had the chicken noodle soup: Dad had the Tuna: I had shrimp cocktail (shocker, I know):
Britbrie Posted July 10, 2016 Author #49 Share Posted July 10, 2016 For an entree, my dad ordered the $20 steakhouse Filet Mignon. He enjoyed it, and said it was definitely worth the extra charge. I ordered the Veal Parmesan, which was excellent! The diet coconut lime cake: I chose the tropical fruit plate:
Britbrie Posted July 10, 2016 Author #50 Share Posted July 10, 2016 After dinner, the family went to see the Motor City show. It was a great show, and the cast did an amazing job. The show was great, so afterwards we decided to go to see the comedian in the Ebony Cabaret. The comedian was okay, but nothing super hilarious. It was around 11 pm, and there was the Mega Deck Party going on so we went up to the Lido to see what was going on. There was a lot of dancing going on, and lots of crowd involvement which was fantastic! Towards the end of the party, I tried to teach my mom and aunt how to do the Wobble... which was pretty funny. After the deck party, we walked around the ship a little bit and went to bed. Up Next: Sea Day!
