Sherbertscamper Posted July 5, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2016 What is the average cost for an embers basket? How much cash should I plan to bring if we take the Embera tour?
RSF Cruiser Posted July 5, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2016 Like most things, the cost varies based on time to create. They charge about the same price as the stores in Panama. The small baskets I bought were a few dollars - maybe $3 or so. I also got a beautifully woven face mask and some wood carvings, and they were more - ~$10. I brought about $40 with me. I loved visiting the village and hope to return some day.

BillB48 Posted July 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2016 Great to know, thanks RSF Cruiser! Did you take US dollars? You won't have any problem using US dollars in any of the countries visited on a Canal cruise although you may receive change in the local currency. In Panama it's even easier since the US dollar is the only paper legal tender, coins can be a mixture of Panamanian and US. Panamanian coins are the same size and value as US coins.
