Summit, Alaska…How To Keep Busy?

You could hardly run out of things to do!! The naturalist will give talks with slides and movies (on glaciers, two kinds of whales), then we had an astronomist who gave two talks. There are seminars on acupuncture, about downloading digital photos. The two days at sea are observation times: Hubbard Glacier will wow you most of one day (to get to the helipad which is only open for glacier viewing, go to port promenade deck and walk forward), and the inside passage is constant mountains on both sides of the ship, and perfect for wildlife sightings. There are the casino, bingo, teas, shops, art all over the ship, shows, the thelosotherapy pool, hot tubs, the aft of deck 10 at the buffet for watching the wake or whales etc. Enjoy! Read the reviews on cruise critic to get an idea of what there is to do. The trip is port intensive so that will occupy you, also.

Can anyone who has been on the Summit tell us about classes and such that are held throughout the trip? Any recommendations? We're always open to new things, and this would be a good way to spend the two days that we are at sea.

In addition to other's suggestions, I truly enjoyed the culinary demonstrations and the wine pairing sessions. Dennis, the Executive Chef, is fabulous and most entertaining!!!!!
