travlin Posted July 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2016 A friend is considering joining me in my cabin. Does anyone know if we can still use the rate I have already booked? Or do we have to start a new booking? The cabin I have now is $1,000 more today than when I booked it. My TA is out of town, so I can't ask her. I have not made the final payment yet. Thoughts? Taylor95 Posted July 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2016 Is your room currently booked as single occupancy? When I booked our upcoming December cruise I knew my DD wanted to take a friend, but we didn't know who yet - I booked it as double occupancy to lock in the rate & promos and will just add the name when she figures it out. Sorry I'm not sure what the answer is in your situation, but hopefully someone will come along that can help.
travlin Posted July 21, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted July 21, 2016 Thank you for your reply. I am booked as a single. That may be a problem.
dublell Posted July 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2016 I don't know what the NCL poicy is on this, but I'd recommend having your TA check when they are available. Seems to me it's to NCL's advantage to allow a second passenger. Increased taxes and port fees, of course, but more important, the second passenger is likely to spend money on board, something they like.

Shouldn't be a problem, however since you booked with a TA, NCL won't touch the booking. You need to wait until your TA gets back to modify it. kcwingwalker Posted July 21, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2016 Thank you for your reply. I am booked as a single. That may be a problem. I booked as solo and then added my soon. My PCC was so helpful and no additional charges. He will also get the same perks I received when I booked. It can be done, but it does take time.
