MattInFLL Posted August 14, 2016 #26 Share Posted August 14, 2016 I had such a different experience in the Suite Lounge on Allure. The 2 bartenders went out of their way to say hi. The wait staff in CK would come say hi or wave hello even when we weren't eating there. Always big smiles. The concierge closest to the door would always smile, say hello and push the door open button for me when I had stuff in my hands. It was really a nice place to hang out. But I definitely think there's a difference between having a CL and any other Sky Class suite because with the CL you are in your own little world on 17. klove613 Posted August 14, 2016 #27 Share Posted August 14, 2016 Thanks for your insight! I agree the Haven is so fabulous and NCL staff, throughout the ship, are just fantastic, especially so in the Haven. We are sky class so won't have a genie. I think I will be okay with this arrangement as we are traveling with another couple, have kids that will be old enough for the kids club, and will likely be spending a lot more of our time than we typically do out and about on the ship. We aren't sailing until next June but will dig up this post when I return to post reflections! Also a couple of months prior we will be on the Disney dream for a 4 days in a suite so will have lots to talk about! Oh, I misunderstood which suite you were in. I am sure you will love the Oasis! I had such a different experience in the Suite Lounge on Allure. The 2 bartenders went out of their way to say hi. Not sure when you were on there, but when I got back, there were quite a few people on the boards grumbling about the concierges. Did not get any warm and fuzzies from the bartender (although he always promptly got my drink when I asked) and I think once or twice came around and offered. I definitely enjoyed the Diamond lounge much more than the Suite Lounge. I think part of the problem is that the Allure and Oasis has a ton of suites, so the service can be impersonal (especially if you are not known). I contrast that with the Concierge Lounges on Explorer and Liberty where the service was over the top good. We were always greeted by name by the concierge and the bartenders were extremely attentive. Heck even the concierge on both ships went around pouring, engaging and made people feel extremely welcome. That has never happened with a concierge on Oasis or Allure, at least not while I was in the lounge. I will caveat that with the fact that I usually only spend 30-45 minutes tops in the Suite Lounge each night, so I definitely could have missed some great service. I love the Oasis class ships, I enjoy the extra room of a suite, but the Suite Lounge is just ehh for me.
MattInFLL Posted August 15, 2016 #28 Share Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) I was on the last week of May. I had a genie so didn't have to worry about the concierges. Which was one of the reasons I was impressed by them. They didn't have to try with me, and they did. I agree that the Sky class concierges do have a lot of suites to cover. But everyone in CL seemed friendly. I've been on lots of Royal ships in DLs and CLs like Indy, Freedom, Liberty, Navigator and Explorer and thought Allure was a much better experience. But the best "Diamond Lounge" experience in the fleet is Majesty. And it doesn't even have a real one :) Edited August 15, 2016 by MattInFLL

We were also on the Allure May 29th. Our children were in 3 Grand Suites and we were in a Crown Loft. Without exception we were treated as valued guests in the Suite Lounge and Coastal Kitchen. The 11 of us ate every evening in the Coastal Kitchen. Service was always excellent, as was the food. I e-mailed the Concierges a month before our cruise. They promptly took care of my requests regarding dinner reservations in the Coastal Kitchen and renting 2 cabanas at Barefoot Beach. They also set up a Birthday celebration for my wife one afternoon in the Suite Lounge. Within 2 weeks we will be back on the Oasis and again in October. The main reason is how much we enjoy the rooms on the 17th deck.

I was on the beginning of April and when I got back, there was some discussion here on the boards about how bad the concierges were on the Allure. They did not escort us off the ship although they were offering the service on Oasis, they rarely looked up from their computers, weren't very friendly, etc.. I made sure to note this on my survey. This was before the Suite Enhancements, so I wonder if there were changes due to that and negative guest feedback.

However, they did escort us off the ship at 8:30 AM. We also sailed the Oasis in April and had an excellent experience with both Concierges.
