Star Clipper - Motion Sickness

We just returned from the Feb. 18 sailing of the Star Clipper. I will post a more comprehensive review in the future, but it was the best vacation we have ever had. We have been on seven previous cruises, but after experiencing Star Clippers, we have no desire to return to the big ships. That being said, the sailing was rough. We had constant 25-30 knot winds, and the ship really rocked. Several of the passengers were sick at points during the week. We did OK, mainly because we stayed on deck as much as possible in the fresh air.

Hello all you sailing enthusiasts, can somebody answer my questions.

- Is it possible to help with the sailing manipulation on board?

- Is it allowed to climb into the crows nest?

- Whats the apx. age and nationality of the guests?

- Is the currency on board in Euro or $?

- What about tip per day?

Hello, all passengers are able to help with the sailing of the ship.

Mast climbing is offered when conditions are calm. Likewise people climb out onto the bow sprit.

From our experience, the age is all over the place, with fewer 20 somethings, and fewer 80 somethings. 45-75 mostly.

Mostly American, Canadian, Brits, and Germans, and then everybody else.

The cruise line suggests 8 Euros per person per day for tips.

Prices on board are in Euros. Do not spend "money" while cruising, you use your ship charge card and settle up last day.

I would get a patch......I never get sea sick and on the way back they pick up speed and 3 out of the 4 of us were very sea sick..
