sungifts Posted July 31, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2016 Was the debarkation process smooth and easy with the new terminal? My parents just got off this morning. They said it was very smooth and quick. Grabbed their luggage and went thru customs in no time!
csnarpy Posted July 31, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) Along the same topic, does anyone know if the new terminal allows for Global Entry or Nexus? Edited July 31, 2016 by csnarpy
griffy116 Posted August 1, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2016 I'm glad to hear it has improved. We cruised out of Galveston on Liberty earlier in the month and found that port to be the worst of any port to disembark. What a mess it was!
Flamenco-t Posted August 1, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2016 We did self carry, left our cabin at 7.30 and was out and cleared custom by 8.00 AM
vettecruiser1 Posted August 1, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 1, 2016 Same here, left ship at 7:30 and in car at park and cruise before or around 8:00. They are reconstructing the old terminal to help with disembark and customs. They said is should be done around November.
moopetguy Posted August 1, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2016 I will be sailing on Liberty in late November. I hope that the renovations will be complete, and a bonus would be if they introduce Global Entry :) Otherwise, I assume the standard suggestion of tipping a porter to help you access the quickest customs line will still be the most expedient method. ssb Posted August 1, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) At Terminal # 2, where Royal Caribbean docks !!!! A new terminal building addition has been built next to old terminal building. The New completed building is being used for embarkation now, and will be in future. The Old terminal during renovation is being used for disembarkation now, and will be in the future. I have not heard it will take as long as November to complete though. I hope not!!!!! Regardless !!! RCL and Immigration procedures have to be performed efficiently and effective: 1. If RCL doesn't control passengers effectively inside ship, and properly release passengers off ship , a fiasco on ship will exist! 2. If US Immigration doesn't staff officers properly for efficiency, which will cause a major back up at stations, a fiasco in terminal will exist! Everything should continue to be better every new week of progress! Edited August 1, 2016 by ssb
myklemire@hotmail.com Posted August 1, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 1, 2016 I was on the LOS and disembarked on Sunday. We self carried off in the 4th group (4 of 4 groups for self carrying). We walked out of our cabin and took the elevator from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor at 8:50. The line to disembark ran from the back of the ship through to the casino, stopping just short of the Schooner Bar. I checked my watch it was about 8:55 when i got in line. The line moved continuously and as we had exited customs by 9:15.
kakenaka Posted August 2, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 2, 2016 We disembarked this Sunday and everything went very smoothly. One of the workers there told us this was the first time they had the new luggage hall open. We found it faster to go without a porter on our arrival. We had tags for group 8 off the ship. We ended up earlier than expected and customs was really quick. We were to gather at 9:15-9:30 in the Platinum Theater and we were in our car shortly after 10. The longest wait was for our parking shuttle.
