maldenmusic Posted August 6, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2016 From what I've been reading here, the Dream had problems last week. We are on her in December and I'm hoping we are ok.
Dori Saltzman Posted August 6, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2016 I was on the Dream about three weeks ago. We didn't have any propulsion problems and the Hotel Director told me the a/c problems had all been fixed. We didn't hear any complaints about it. APRN44 Posted August 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2016 We were on in July and to be honest this was the coldest ship I have been on. were in room 6445 very cold ever while in port.
code_d Posted August 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2016 July 17th- No problems.
Razor_Poke Posted August 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 9, 2016 Ditto about July 17. Our cove balcony on deck 2 was a little warmer than some cruises past, but I don't think it was an actual AC problem. We opened / closed the balcony door quite a bit. No late ports. Micahs Grandad Posted August 12, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 12, 2016 The propulsion problem only affects the longer distance cruise going to Cozumel and the problem cannot be fixed until the next dry dock which will not be for some time. Ship cannot go faster than about 18 knots right now.
rawley2 Posted August 12, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2016 ] The propulsion problem only affects the longer distance cruise going to Cozumel and the problem cannot be fixed until the next dry dock which will not be for some time. Ship cannot go faster than about 18 knots right now. We are on that longer cruise. But from what I have been reading it has not been a problem. And even if grand Cayman and cozumel have a few hours shaved off I will not be unhappy. He is going the 21st. Same cruise my wife and I are going on. We were on the Dream in May and lost two hours in GC and Cozumel. According to ship officers propulsion problem will not be fixed until next drydock which I believe is beginning of 2018. Still had great time but didnt have enough time in Coz to do AI we wanted to go to.
ekajun1957 Posted August 12, 2016 #12 Share Posted August 12, 2016 It appears that the Dream goes into dry dock January 29th 2017. Look on their schedule no cruise for that week and the next and rumors are its that date also. So pretty likely. And yes it seems pretty public now it has propulsion issues but only affects the Grand Cayman / Cozumel portion of those itineraries.

opensaysme Posted August 15, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 15, 2016 My husband and I are also planning to be on the Dream at this date. Are you and your family at all concerned about the floods in Louisiana?
aqua blue me Posted August 15, 2016 #15 Share Posted August 15, 2016 We cruised the end of May, and were told we would loose a hour but we didn't. Cruised again at the end of July, last sea day slowed way down maybe stopped and a little light flickering and were told we wouldn't be back to Nola till 9:00 am. I would not worry and if I had my choice I would sail on her the 8 days in December to instead of the 4 day Triumph. I love the Dream! Detroit97 Posted August 15, 2016 #16 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Just got off the Dream yesterday. We didn't have any propulsion problems that I am aware of. We went to Cozumel, Belize, and Honduras and were on time to all of them. Have a great trip! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Micahs Grandad Posted August 15, 2016 #20 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Could the propulsion issues cause the Dream to just die in the water??? Anything is possible but dont think they would wait until Jan to fix it if that was significant risk

opensaysme Posted August 30, 2016 #23 Share Posted August 30, 2016 Just got off the dream and there appeared to be no propulsion issues. We arrived in Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel on time to the minute. A/C wasn't very intense in our cove balcony. It would be too hot for the comforter and too cold for the sheet. Woke up sweaty often. There were often smells of sewage in the halls on the Main deck. There was a leak in the cieling in the hallway of the Main deck on the last day of the cruise. twokids0204 Posted August 30, 2016 #24 Share Posted August 30, 2016 We just got off as well, on the Aug 21 - 28 itnerary. Propulsion, although still in issue did not affect the cruise at all. The A/C in our cabin 6249 was not working, our room steward provided us a fan, it was fine.
