Hurtigruten "Cruise" description

Interesting, thanks. I think however the main difference between Hurtigruten and a traditional cruise is the fact that Hurtigruten sails in view of the coast almost 24/7, while traditional cruises can go way out at sea between two ports. And thus you have 24/7 sightseeing from the ship. For me this is really what makes Hurtigruten special and different, and much more important than dining options or free (or not) coffee. I think this is not highlighted enough in the text.

Excellent point! I agree totally. Thanks for adding it to the discussion.

I'm Norwegian, and I'm used to think of Hurtigruten as public transport. It still is, but with more emphasis on cruise experiences the later decades.

Still, the port calls are as they used to be - with uneven distances and port times along the coast.
