Smoking on Harmony

Can anyone tell me if smoking is allowed on Harmony of the Seas. I am sailing in December.

Smoking is allowed in the Casino and in a designated outdoor area on a pool deck.

There is no lower deck on the outside of the ship since they have central park in the middle, so it sounds like there are 3 areas to smoke. The casino and by the pools on 15 & 16. We are planning a trip next year and would like more details on the smoking areas. Do they have a place to sit and it is covered?

That's quite a list you posted for Carnival. Need to know the color and thickness of the cushions in each area? Perhaps the square footage of each location and number of chairs at each for every ship?

I am hoping the smoking areas are mid ship on 15 & 16 so we don't have a long walk on that big ship.  Is the area on 15 by the Sand Bar or Pool Bar?

The entire port side of the outside of those decks.

Bob, I didn’t see anyone smoking on deck 16 on Allure this week on the one time I took a walk around.  I also just checked a few compasses and Harmony any Symphony only list deck 15 while Oasis and Allure list 15 and 16.

Harmony and Symphony and I’m pretty sure that it’s only on 15 on Allure but a typo in the cruise compass.  Perhaps there used to be smoking on 16 that they have eliminated.

Wish it was like that on Voyager/Freedom class too.  The Sky Bar is usually all smoking, no matter which side.

Review of Harmony of the seas smoking areas

Getting a room by the aft elevator is most convenient for smokers since there are only 2 areas in the aft of the ship,  outdoors on 15 Port side and in the casino on Starboard.  

Deck 4- Casino starboard side- sitting area with 5 club chairs. When the casino doors are closed it says to smoke outside on deck 5. 

Deck 15- by adult pool port side- large hard uncomfortable chairs for shorter people and not easy to reach the ashtray. They close deck 15 when fueling in St Martin until 2-3 pm.  When they wash the deck they never think of leaving some towels so we can dry the chairs.

Some ships have indoor Cigar rooms and they work great when the weather is bad for smokers.  I don't like going to the casino, so I wish they would give cigarette smokers an indoor room on all ships and let us open the window.  I hope cruise lines read these posts.

Please do a review of smoking areas on other ships and post it.  Thanks

Just off Oasis and it was only an area on the port side in the Casino and mid to forward area on port side of 15 (covered).   There were no accommodations on deck 16 and I did not smell smoke there. On days in port,  no ashtrays were set out on 15 until later in the afternoon.  I am a former smoker.

On most of my sailings, about 30. There has been a cigar bar. Lately I have noticed RCCL on their newer ships and AMPED UPs. They eliminated the cigar bar. I guess the socialists know best.  The cigar bars have been quiet getaways from the noise on these ships.   I have met many interesting people in these quiet venues. My wife will even come in for a chat. She can't stand the cigarette smoke, say in the casino.

Yes  I do smoke a stogie now and then. I never smoked cigarettes.

Liberty still has their cigar bar, but is scheduled to remove it. SAD !

I may have to go back to NCL ! Are you listening ROYAL ?

Totally agree Texasreb.  Sorry to see them go.  and yes, very interesting people in those lounges.  And, when i do go to smoke a cigar in the designated smoking areas, i get dirty looks from the cigarette smokers.

Don't smoke but am an early riser and explorer. When I found the cigar bar on Liberty I thought it was awesome. At that time of morning its empty and quiet. I would just sit and read or whatever. And loved the smell of cigars.

Smoking area on Harmony is by the Sand Bar.  They have chairs set up there, the whole side is not smoking, only the area by the bar

We were on the Harmony in June 2016, when it first started sailing out of Barcelona.  I do not smoke, but do enjoy cigars when on vacation.  The Harmony had a beautiful nice large indoor Churchill Cigar Bar/Lounge with big beautiful wall paintings of Cuban cigar leaves & cigar motifs all over the walls.  The sign above the entrance had the word "Cigar" blacked out, & I was informed that it was a no indoor smoking policy in that lounge.  I asked "*****?"  Why designed a spankin' brand new ship with a cigar bar & won't allow smoking in there?  One of the Officers informed me that there were no smoking in the European & American markets, but they're designed to be available for smoking when re-positioned to the Asian market.

Churchill’s cigar bar is on Princess not Harmony.

Actually on last week's Liberty sailing. There would be some readers in the cigar bar in the morning up to early afternoon. Always a quiet room. No PA noise or loud crowds. The NCL cigar bars were that way too.
