Riemercruisin Posted August 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2016 We are sailing on the Vista on October 11th out of Athens. Today we received an e-mail that we will not be visiting Turkey and therefore the cruise will not visit any non-EU country and we will need to pay VAT (Value Added Tax) to products and services. There are several conflicting rumors on this. Can someone who has already been on the Vista and skipped Turkey please share their experiences with this? What percentage was charged extra on individual drinks? Besides the customary 15% gratuity? Were there additional taxes for eating in the specialty restaurants? Additional charges for the Imax? Thanks in advance!
TomCruise48 Posted August 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2016 There are several threads discussing this under "Everything Vista." Some posters have been on the Vista and paid the VAT. Information is a little inconsistent. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Need2Bcruzin Posted August 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2016 Too many inconsistencies in those threads. I'm waiting for better information as well. Specific information rather than speculations.
