Is there any way to know what pier Carnival Sunshine Docks at.

Interested for Sept 17th

Not sure that the exact pier is determined way in advance or that the usual pier can't be changed at the last moment. Why are you asking? It's one big terminal complex with the ship's pulled into slips - like mall parking, not street parking.

I wasent sure if it was important to know so you could tell the taxi/car service where you needed to go.

Based on the published NY Cruise calendar by the port - there will be 3 ships (Crystal Serenity & NCL Gem) at the MCT on Sept 17th. so expect a "little" extra traffic. Must be the busy Fall sailings to see New England & Canada, LOL - so maybe they will open up all 3 piers but ... not to worry, your can usually see the tall masts/distinctive "profile" for the ships from a good distance away.

 

Most vehicles (except buses) arriving at the piers will be directed to drive up the one & only ramp to level 2 for embarkation/drop-off and the names of the ship will be marked by large signs ... if the driver/you don't see the Sunshine, just continue to the next berth, it's like driving down a one-way street.

 

I would guess, from tracking the ship's webcams - NCL will most likely be at Pier 88, Carnival at be using Pier 90 and Crystal possibly at Pier 92 (it is seldom used ... Aida's ship was there doing overnight.)

Easy peasy port. When you drive up the entrance ramp, look for the Big Red Tail and park. $40 per day (crazy) cash or credit card when you pull in. :):):)
