PJ's Posted September 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2016 We are sailing on the QM2 to New York departing the UK on 19 Nov 2016 and arriving in New York on 26th Nov. We have booked to stay 4 nights in a midtown hotel and wonder what is the best way after disembarking to get to our hotel. There are 4 adults in our party, plus luggage. Would we all fit into a taxi or would we be better pre-booking an SUV to meet us at the port? Any information would be appreciated.
pepperrn Posted September 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2016 Hi PJ's, I think you may something bigger than a taxi with four people and all their cases; I've crossed with family/friends on QM2 several times and we all had two cases each  (plus "carry on" hand luggage). A SUV/VAN would be better I would think... There is an active roll-call for the WB crossing 19th - 26th November here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2211404&page=10 Hope this helps, have a great crossing on the amazing QM2, Bon Voyage! Cornus Posted September 3, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 3, 2016 I will also be on that crossing and usually just take a cab into NYC from Red Hook. However, since there are four of you, you may need two cabs. Another option would be to book a car service. Two that are often recommended are: http://www.arecibocc.com/ or https://www.dial7.com/ Hope to see you on board!
tv24 Posted September 3, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2016 We've used Dial 7 a bunch of times and recommend it. I think you will have too much stuff for one cab. Have a great crossing!
SPacificbound Posted September 6, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 6, 2016 When in NYC I book Black Crown. Have always received good service. http://www.blackcrownlimousine.com/
