moopetguy Posted December 22, 2016 #376 Share Posted December 22, 2016 If you elect to take the instant OBC and later downgrade the booking, they can ask for more deposit: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=50760283&postcount=55 Thanks for the "clareafication" ;) I was speaking from a more general sense but I would also be the first to say or agree with the fine print always being important to review and understand. Personally, I never take the instant OBC as I prefer deferring the bonus to the next cruise (and on my most recent cruise I actually ended up with an OBC refund since I didn't even spend it all ). I'd rather retain the option of getting my deposit refunded if for some reason I decide to cancel the future cruise booking.
Desert Cruizers Posted December 23, 2016 #377 Share Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) I booked our August 26, 2017 Copenhagen TA back on March 7, 2016 but the Roll Call was already started perhaps two weeks earlier. Would have to recheck the 1st page. Edited December 23, 2016 by Desert Cruizers

But the rules are strict, and RCI looks back to be sure the bookings are not canceled.
Esahuma Posted December 23, 2016 #380 Share Posted December 23, 2016 Thank you all for the advice - I guess that is what we will do - book 'placement' cruise while onboard Liberty end of Jan 2017 and transfer to new cruise when released! There is just so much more to gain when booking onboard! :D

I'm guessing they keep the commission if it gets applied to a different voyage, so that shouldn't affect them to much Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app

Williamsburgcruiser Posted December 23, 2016 #383 Share Posted December 23, 2016 I was really hoping that other Vision class ships would come to Baltimore.... I've done the Enchantment and Grandeur... would like one of the others??? not sure where to tell RCI this. Yes, I'm trying to sail every ship, but am not a big fan of the huge ships, although I would go on Harmony. I'm also looking for a sailing for 2018 for Florida to Rome... hoping one will be posted! Sunny AZ Girl Posted December 27, 2016 #387 Share Posted December 27, 2016 Good Morning! I am beginning to watch this thread as new bookings should be available for 2018/2019 in the next couple of months. We are looking for Alaska 2018 and possibly a TA or TP for this time frame.:) Thank you for all who are able to figure out the mindset of the powers to be in the deployment offices!:)
geoff2802 Posted January 2, 2017 #388 Share Posted January 2, 2017 Trying to confirm dates and itinerary of the Rhapsody and Vision eastbound 2018 TAs. Rhapsody is listed in the Riviera Ports calendar calling at Cannes on May 21, suggesting arrival in Barcelona on May 20. This would suggest a 14 night repo from Tampa given her last current cruise concludes on May 6. The 2017 TA is also 14 nights. Rhapsody visits St Maarten in 2017 but is not yet listed in the St Maarten port calendar for 2018. Has anyone found Rhapsody port calls between May 6 and May 20? Vision is listed in the Riviera Ports calendar calling at Villefranche on May 3, suggesting arrival at Barcelona on May 2. This would suggest a 16 night repo from Galveston given her last current cruise concludes on April 16. Has anyone found Vision port calls between April 16 and May 2? Any guesses on likely itineraries? Cheers.

Although Im not looking to book Alaska, Im waiting to book Summer 2018 for ten people. Im leaning toward Anthem (we live in NY) or Oasis/Allure. We all want the drink package so Im hoping the prices are in line with what we book with NCL since we take the drink package there. Last few years NCL has come out less expensive but I really want to sail on Oasis or Anthem. NCL had 2018 out so already prices out those. Hoping RCCL will be open shortly. Merion_Mom Posted January 4, 2017 #390 Share Posted January 4, 2017 I'm currently on the Anthem. At the top tier event this morning, Captain Ban said that "his personal guess" was that Quantum 4 was going straight to Asia and Oasis 4 to the Caribbean. Deployment releases to begin in three months. Just reporting. :)
Merion_Mom Posted January 4, 2017 #391 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Are Voyager or Mariner coming back then? While Q Class was not received brilliantly in Europe/US, I would be unhappy if another one went to Asia. Plus, the teething problems (of which there were many) *should* be fixed by 2019. He didn't mention anything else about deployments, but my opinion is "no". They are expanding the Asia market, not just shuffling ships around.

Esahuma Posted January 5, 2017 #393 Share Posted January 5, 2017 That is still a lot of ships in Asia! And a lot of gambling. ;) I agree Karen and Carol - but follow the BIG $$$ - when we did the Mariner TA it was on the way to the Asia market - the casino was closed the first week as almost every slot machine was trashed and all Asian machines were installed along with HIGH Roller area - many ship store were replaced with HIGH END shopping - brand name stores- Seems that the Asian market has HIGH disposal $$$ to spend on cruising - entertainment - shopping and gambling!
saharaga Posted January 5, 2017 #394 Share Posted January 5, 2017 This has been my experience. It may just be the timing of when we cruise RCI but the prices always seem really high when we try to book onboard. We cruised on the Indy and the Navigator in April and both times, the prices were out of this world. The perks just don't justify paying that much more. Hopefully, we'll have better luck on the Oasis in October. ;) Laura waited to book onboard...... and the price went up. 😱 Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app

Radiance appears the most likely to return to the northern hemisphere. It has been mentioned a few times at Captains Corners. The new Quantum ship is apparently also visiting us during the Chinese Winter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
