cruiser1487 Posted September 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2016 We are UK passport holders and travel on the Vista on Tuesday? It says on our cruise printed passes all non US citizens must hold an ESTA. Surely this is very misleading as no Visas are needed for Europe? Where do you reside? Have you contacted Carnival and asked them?
riffatsea Posted September 11, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) An ESTA is required if you are entering the USA. Where is this cruise going/starting?? I'd certainly call Carnival!! Edited September 11, 2016 by riffatsea

Piggeldy Posted September 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2016 ESTA is the "Electronic System for Travel Authorization" you would need to enter the US (by plane or ship), it's not needed if you cruise from Athens to Barcelona (assuming there are no US ports somewhere along the way ;) ). (As the UK is still in the EU,) you are a European cruising in Europe... you do not need an ESTA. The cruise pass is incorrect.

riffatsea Posted September 11, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2016 It sounds like a web site error to me. IF you call the Carnival main number it gives you instructions where you can talk to someone about web site issues. I'd call them and tell them the boarding pass has incorrect info on it. Perhaps they can change that??? The typical person that answers the phone for travel plans, knows nothing about immigration requirements! They are just sales people.
