pirate museum or sites to see

My son just informed me he would like to do some excursion that he can learn about the pirates in the Caribbean. he is apparently playing a new video game and it has all the famous pirates that were around then, does anyone know if there is a pirate museum or even a regular one that has a pirate section in cozumal. i tried doing an internet search but not having much luck. any info will be appreciated. oh and he is 21 yrs old so not like a little kids pirate thing.

I know there is a museum in town, but don't know if they showcase anything pirate. Jean LaFitte was a well know pirate there, and I know they have a Jean Lafitte Pirate ship excursion, but don't think it's anything "historical". Probably something more theatrical and entertaining. :)

You'll find more pirate type venues in Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Roatan than in Cozumel.
