Doughty3 Posted September 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2016 Does anyone know if Oceana's refurbishment in December 2017 is a major one? What is P&O planning?...or is this an industry secret?!
Monorail Orange Posted September 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2016 First I've heard of it. I would assume that she could be getting the "Britannia style" make-over that the Oriana is also getting. Although how long of a refurb is it? I guess the lenght scheduled will tell us what they're planning.

Rare P&O SUE Posted September 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2016 I've just done a quick search of Oceana's cruises -there aren't any between 29th November and 15th December so a good 2 weeks scheduled by the looks of it.
Monorail Orange Posted September 19, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2016 (edited) Hmm 2 weeks is a fair amount of time for a spruce up. I see that Arcadia is also 'popping in' for a refurb in October '17. Did they get a twofer on the new bedspreads? Did they get a twofer on the new bedspreads? I noticed that Arcadia was in for a refurb in October 2017 - but there is only a gap of 4 days in the cruise schedule. Is that really long enough to do anything much - particularly as the ships usually go over to Hamburg for the work?

Is that really long enough to do anything much - particularly as the ships usually go over to Hamburg for the work? Apparently J718 from Oct 31st 2017 for 18 nights has been cancelled in order for Arcadia to have a refit so it is much more than 4 days. Pity because it looked a really nice cruise with a decent itinerary.
Monorail Orange Posted September 20, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 20, 2016 Well I can't think of any changes they can make to either ship that requires structural changes. (ie. like when they added the Sun Deck cabins to Arcadia). Any suggestions on what could they add to either ship? Therefore I'm assuming that its just a general freshen up and an update of style for both.
