sarze2591 Posted September 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2016 Other than the formal evenings I notice there is a dress code after 5:30 in the restaurants and lounges...how strict is this, we are from QLD so dressy means good thongs (or just shoes depending on where in qld you are from lol) does Hubby need to go purchase more long pants/shoes or will denim shorts and casual shoes be allowed? Are tshirts ok or need a collar? What about kids, will boys aged 4 and 6 be restricted from wearing normal shorts/tshirts?
shireboi Posted September 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2016 (edited) Other than the formal evenings I notice there is a dress code after 5:30 in the restaurants and lounges...how strict is this, we are from QLD so dressy means good thongs (or just shoes depending on where in qld you are from lol) does Hubby need to go purchase more long pants/shoes or will denim shorts and casual shoes be allowed? Are tshirts ok or need a collar? What about kids, will boys aged 4 and 6 be restricted from wearing normal shorts/tshirts? Well.. here's a link to their US site and 'what to wear' - I would gather that they would be kind of strict on the 'thongs' part.... and a few collared polo type shirts would be enough.... https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1093/~/what-to-wear---evenings Main Dining Room(s) Following is the dress code in the Main Dining Room(s) for both men and women and pertains to children as well: Cruise Casual Dress Code Men: sport slacks, khakis, Jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long) and collared polo shirts Women: summer dresses, casual skirts, pants, capris, dress shorts, Jeans (no cut-offs) blouses and tops Not permitted: Cut-off Jeans, men’s sleeveless shirts, tee-shirts, gym or basketball shorts, baseball hats, flip-flops and bathing suit attire edit... somewhat 'strange' to be responding to this .. as I just had an email for a Cunard QE cruise bargain from SF to Syd ... and then read that you had wear a jacket (men) and no jeans / shorts after 6pm... so I wont be doing that one :) Edited September 28, 2016 by shireboi
peter.kath@hotmail.com Posted September 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2016 On our last Carnival Cruise my husband wore jeans and a collared shirt with shoes and socks in the dining room, and yes apart from Theme nights it is enforced. The kids will be okay. Sent from my iPad using Forums
lagoon380 Posted September 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2016 Jeans are fine even t-shirts and casual shorts, just no board shorts, thongs and singlets.
sarze2591 Posted September 28, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted September 28, 2016 Thanks Lagoon380, thats what I was hoping for :) Now I just have to convince the other half that there are in fact uses for shoes in between thongs and black leather 'wedding' shoes haha
