Does anyone know how far from the marina and town the Melia Cabo San Lucas is? We are thinking about staying there next spring and want to be within walking distance of town and the marina. Has anyone ever stayed there...any opinions??

Any other suggestions of where to stay? Thanks.

It's about a 20 minute walk up the beach from the Melia to the marina/boardwalk, and then another 10 up the boardwalk to town, and it's a little further from the front entrance of the Melia down rough sidestreets to town. Also, walking up the beach, at the end where the marina starts you have to walk around obstructions, construction areas etc, not an easy walk. We walk and hike everywhere, but we wouldn't want to walk to town from there twice a day or anything.

A lovely resort that's right at the marina on the ocean beach is the Finnisterra, series of pretty pools, classy place, they have a web site, if you google their name and Cabo that should pop up. There are a couple other resorts next to it, also very nice, if you want their names I can look in our papers. Those places are perhaps a 5-10 minute walk to town down the boulevard. The ocean beach has higher waves than Medano Beach in the bay where the Melia is, not good for little kids, and too rough for boogie boarding, but fun to walk through. Do you need a link to a good Cabo street map?... I think I can still find it in our stuff.
