seadog67 Posted November 10, 2016 Author #401 Share Posted November 10, 2016 Seadog, thanks for bringing us along on your cruise. It's been a great distraction from reality!! We are going to be on the Reflection at the end of February with basically the same itinerary as you, except we dock in Ocho Rios in Jamaica. We've never done the Western Caribbean or an S class ship. We have an Alcove booked for a sea day. I would love to see a photo or two of the Alcoves if you don't mind. Have a wonderful time for the next couple of days! Thanks! Glad you are enjoying and have a blast in Feb! Here are pics of the Alcoves There were about 3 or 4 of them in use today. seadog67 Posted November 10, 2016 Author #402 Share Posted November 10, 2016 That's a great-looking burger! You mentioned Lawn Club is $45 pp for dinner. What is the lunch price? Thanks again for your great review. I was told $10 pp for lunch with possible extra cost for some items but not sure on that point yet. It is open for lunch on sea-days. Enjoy! seadog67 Posted November 10, 2016 Author #404 Share Posted November 10, 2016 If I missed any questions I will check back on them. So we headed off a few minutes after 9 to get to Columbus Cove Bungalow. Looks beautiful https://vimeo.com/191059546 Reflection was docked on the Port Side so I could not get a pic of the balconies on our side Starboard Side. seadog67 Posted November 10, 2016 Author #406 Share Posted November 10, 2016 (edited) A glimpse of the Suite Life.......keep moving nothing to see here without a gold card :( Basically if you look at Labadee from the ship it runs in an arch from left to right. Columbus Beach where our Bungalow is located is at the extreme end of the right side, as far from the pier as you can get After a trek through the tropics we made it.. wooo, I need a drink Our little abode BB 4 , BB 8's little brother The view leading to the Bungalow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited November 10, 2016 by seadog67
seadog67 Posted November 10, 2016 Author #407 Share Posted November 10, 2016 The view from the bungalow The Bungalow comes with an attendant and our attendant procures anything you need, drinks, water is provided, along with fresh beach towels. My Labadozee View from the water back to the bungalow Some thoughts on the bungalow, (we saw one other bungalow in use) The location is tucked away at the very end of the beach right next to what I believe is the wall separating the usable area and the living quarter of the local worker also near what seemed like a work shop area as we heard chainsaws and other power equipment going off and on. Also, at least in our bungalow, there were many flys that basically laughed off a cloud of "Off" bug spray. The water in this area is nice and not as crowded, so that is a plus https://vimeo.com/191064380 Overall, we would not get a Bungalow again for the price and there are prettier areas to spend the day. themutis Posted November 10, 2016 #411 Share Posted November 10, 2016 Once again, thanks for the amazing information. We are planning on doing the Zipline first thing. Do you think if we arrived at Columbus Cove around 11 we would still be able to find a chair with some shade? We were also thinking of booking a cabana, but now I'm not too sure :) Thanks again Eileen

We were also thinking of booking a cabana, but now I'm not too sure :) Thanks again Eileen I think so regarding finding a chair at 11. They put out as many as needed. Nellies beach was much more crowded at 11 Also cabanas are different than the bungalows. These are the cabanas at nellis beach We had one of these before and they are nicer than the bungalows in our opinion. seadog67 Posted November 10, 2016 Author #414 Share Posted November 10, 2016 The story is a little behind so lets fast forward a bit. Last we were strolling the island - then we swam for a bit more then at 12:30 or so headed back passing The Aqua Park an added cost venue (did not get the prices , bad dog ) Took one last look at Columbus Cove Beach Walked past some cool rocks Stopped tipped and listened to some beats (this is not fast forwarding if we keep stopping). :) https://vimeo.com/191085603 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
seadog67 Posted November 10, 2016 Author #415 Share Posted November 10, 2016 Further down saw a beautiful vista (fast forwardinggg remember).. Finally made it to security, overheated so the cool towel and fruit water were refreshing https://vimeo.com/191086330 Back on board we decided to try TLCG for lunch when we found it is only open on sea-days. After answering my questions they recommended The Porch for lunch, $30 per person charge. We said why not what the hay.. seadog67 Posted November 10, 2016 Author #416 Share Posted November 10, 2016 They brought out nice bread that had melted cheese throughout for dipping in oil and balsamic 10 outta 5 Forks They then have a starter course Mahi Mahi Tacos for him 3.5 outta 5 Forks Buffalo Chicken Wings for her 2 outta 5 Forks (rubbery) They have salads and such but we skipped to the mains Lobsta Roll for him 2.5 outta 5 Forks (smallish and not much lobsta taste at all) Club Wrap for her 4 outta 5 Forks Overall not worth $30 pp for lunch based on what we had, maybe other menu items are much better so ymmv Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

seadog67 Posted November 11, 2016 Author #420 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Closing the book on day 6 of our cruise and it was a great day! Had fun on Labadee and enjoyed strolling the island. Tried The Porch and had our First Banana Split Martini 10 Forks! Sadly tomorrow is our last day, booooo, but we will try and make the most of it, even though there is a chance of showers, we will just enjoy more of Reflection! See everyone tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

thomasale Posted November 11, 2016 #424 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Again this has been sooooo delightful. I have enjoyed watching you guys have so much fun with yourselves and the cruise! One of the things I noticed, and we too cruise the same way, you take advantage of the up sells. You do fun things on the excursions. The cruise is our only real vacation and we go all out for it. When we are getting off we have a bill to handle but we budget for it all year long and we have made such an investment in getting there it seems like we would miss so much if we didn't pay for the extra few yards. I am not suggesting others do it our way, but the fact that you have shown us the restaurants and the food offerings and the excursions adds that much more to our "arsenal" when we get on the exact same cruise in a week. One of my sisters and BIL arrived here (we live about 30 miles north of Palm Beach) last night. She has a winter home here and this will set off her "snowbird" season. My other sister and her daughter and husband get in this Wednesday. My sons and daughters and their spouses live in the area. We are going to be going back over your entries all week long. We will already be quite familiar with Reflection, and our itinerary, thanks to your diligent entries. Hopefully at some time in the future, we will be on the same cruise and we can buy you a cocktail as proper "thanks"...Cheers!
