swdke Posted November 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2016 I have an upcoming 8 night cruise. I know there will be two formal nights, but what is the appropriate dress for men on the other nights? Thank you. cruzgryphon Posted November 2, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Business casual is fine. I typically will take a couple of pairs of pants that I can wear with my blazer as well as with other shirts. In terms of shirts you could go as casual as golf shirts, but personally I feel more comfortable with long sleeve or short sleeve shirts with buttons that go all the way to the neck. RealNorwegianCruiser Posted November 2, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Not sure about tank tops but certainly see people in shorts(not me):) Might be. Thats the only thing I ever seen been turned down/turned away by the maître d. (Note: this was not the first night though!)
Luvmypetz Posted November 2, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Jeans on men? First RCI. Carnival did not frown on, for women either Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Havingfun2010 Posted November 2, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 2, 2016 On the non-formal nights, jeans, khakis, or other long pants, with a polo shirt or something nicer than a polo shirt. Pretty much, no t-shirts, shorts, or hats. Sneakers are also fine or any normal (not beach wear) shoes.
OCruisers Posted November 2, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Tank tops on men are a big no-no. Jeans are fine.
aftop Posted November 2, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 2, 2016 On a recent (Oct 16) Freedom cruise on a non formal night my SIL decided to skip the evening meal in the MDR as he had on shorts and didn't want to change. Entering the MDR I saw numerous men in shorts. I asked my waitress and she advised the only time they enforced the no shorts policy was on formal nights.
