dtfoxtail Posted November 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2016 Anyone out there a lap swimmer? Does NCL set aside any time for lap swimmers? Or in your experience is there a good time to swim laps? Or is there a pool even big enough to do laps? Sorry if someone has already asked these questions. I did ty to search and couldn't find anything and it's been a while since my last NCL cruise. Thanks so much for any information you can give me. Happy cruising. 🏊🏻*♀️🚢
eatdrinkfly Posted November 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2016 from my experiences on NCL ships, I have never seen a pool worth doing laps in. they're pretty tiny and usually pretty crowded.
sanger727 Posted November 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2016 Yes, pretty sure I have seen lap swim time designated in the dailies (think it's pretty early though, like 7am-ish. If you love lap swimming it may work for you. It doesn't for me... pools r very small so will take many many many laps to get any real swimming in and I'm just as happy w the elliptical. Happy cruising. *♀️ Unfortunately you will not be swimming any meaningful laps on NCL. The pools are maybe 10 yards long, and are always crowded. You would be spending all of your time doing turns. Even the pools in the spas are too small, and too warm to swim laps. No time is reserved for lap swimming. If you want to swim for exercise plan on doing it in the ocean when you are in port. canicruiseagainplease Posted November 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2016 Maybe the spa pool, but not on deck. Sent from my SM-G935P using Forums mobile app
LrgPizza Posted November 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 8, 2016 I regular see people swimming laps in the early morning hours, when there aren't any others in the pool. Granted, the pools are small and you will turn often, but it certainly can be done, and is.
Eleteace Posted November 8, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2016 The pools are tiny!!! I'm sure you could just push off one side and use that momentum to get the other end before pushing back... Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare BirdTravels Posted November 8, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2016 The pools are small, and even on ships like the Dawn with a lap pool in the spa, most people go in to sit in the warm water and not do laps.
