Crown & Anchor® Society Membership Upgrade - Dubai sailings

 

Promotion applies to confirmed bookings made by existing Gold status and above Crown & Anchor members between 24th October 2016 and 25th November 2016 on Vision of the Seas Dubai sailings departing between 12th December 2016 and 30th January 2017. For the avoidance of doubt pre- Gold members making a booking meeting the above booking/sailing requirements shall not be eligible for promotion benefits.

 

All stateroom categories are eligible to participate in this promotion.

 

Promotion applicable only to bookings made in GBP or Euro currency.

 

Eligible bookings shall be eligible to receive selected benefits of the next tier up from their Crown & Anchor status at the time of booking for their selected Vision of the Seas sailing only.

My guess is that this is to try to fill the ship. Obviously demand is not what they expected. It's basic economics.

If this catches on, I can see the promotion spreading to other ships and sail dates, to offset slow bookings. I hope the Pinnacle gift onboard is one heck of a gift, since they get no benefit from this promotion whatsoever.

What are they thinking ???? This is a kick in the head of every high, meaning D+ and PC C&A member ! If I could, I would cancel my cruise just to show RCI what i think about this !

A look at the Roll calls shows how few frequent cruisers take these cruises: therefore they are sold at bottom prices to non cruisers seeking winter ☀️ sun which leads to an interesting demographic on board.

The cheapest I have seen is £649pp for a week including the 6 hr flight to Dubai. That is $805pp. "Cheap as chips" [emoji489] as we say over here.

Vision 7 night in March Jr Suite $3,782.20.

 

Those prices seem high to me.

Vision 7n 27Feb £384pp ($479pp) for inside. Not as cheap as it was but still cheap.

Luckily we don't "feel" it in the concierge lounge. And I'm glad they only did it for January. I'm not happy about it at all !

Hence the promo - on sailings like that RCI knows that they don't need to worry about giving away too many perks to upgraders.
