OfTheSeasCruiser Posted December 14, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) So I'm wondering if this has something to do with the fairly low pricing (at least for inside cabins) of the Dubai sailings. Not selling well, perhaps. Edited December 14, 2016 by OfTheSeasCruiser
BND Posted December 15, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 15, 2016 (edited) My guess is that this is to try to fill the ship. Obviously demand is not what they expected. It's basic economics. Edited December 15, 2016 by BND
travelgoddess1 Posted December 15, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2016 (edited) If this catches on, I can see the promotion spreading to other ships and sail dates, to offset slow bookings. I hope the Pinnacle gift onboard is one heck of a gift, since they get no benefit from this promotion whatsoever. Rare little britain Posted December 15, 2016 Author #14 Share Posted December 15, 2016 (edited) A look at the Roll calls shows how few frequent cruisers take these cruises: therefore they are sold at bottom prices to non cruisers seeking winter ☀️ sun which leads to an interesting demographic on board. The cheapest I have seen is £649pp for a week including the 6 hr flight to Dubai. That is $805pp. "Cheap as chips" [emoji489] as we say over here. HSVcruiser01 Posted January 18, 2017 #23 Share Posted January 18, 2017 Luckily we don't "feel" it in the concierge lounge. And I'm glad they only did it for January. I'm not happy about it at all ! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Biker19 Posted January 29, 2017 #25 Share Posted January 29, 2017 I heard there will be one "fake" pinnacle on this weeks cruise ....... D+ with 178 points .... Hence the promo - on sailings like that RCI knows that they don't need to worry about giving away too many perks to upgraders.
