leenieweenie Posted December 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2016 How cold was it the first 2 sea days? What kind of excursions were there in Port Orlando? How was the weather and traffic when you got back to Baltimore-the news was bad for the day before with all kinds of traffic accidents and icy weather! Did you make Freeport? Hope you had a good time!

How was the weather and traffic when you got back to Baltimore-the news was bad for the day before with all kinds of traffic accidents and icy weather! Did you make Freeport? Hope you had a good time! 1. It was cold, and then cool the first 2 sea days. As we approached the Carolinas, it got warmer. 2. Didn't do excursions in Port Canaveral, so I'm not sure. But there's literally NOTHING to do at that port. 3. When we returned to Baltimore this morning, it was misty and very warm. 4. We did stop in Freeport. The terminal didn't look any different than the last time I was there 2 years ago. 5. Yes, it was a good time.
RHilla619 Posted December 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2016 Hope you enjoyed! I set sail on her the day after Christmas, can't wait! Speaking upon the first 2 sea days, at what point did you reach the Carolina's/when it warmed up? Was it halfway through the first sea day, or the morning of the second one? Just trying to judge when I might expect some lay out by the pool temps. What nights were the formal nights? Was the comedy club tough to get into? GradUT Posted December 19, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 19, 2016 We were on the Pride in late October and there was absolutely no problem getting seats for the comedy club. (We went to 3 or 4 shows).

Also, did you hear when the gangway in Baltimore is going to be repaired? I heard the 1qt of 2017. I didn't use the hub app, but it looked like quite a few people were looking at their phones during sailing, so I assume it's pretty popular. I don't have info on the gangway in Baltimore, but the temporary gangway that's there now isn't a problem at all.

The mid ship pool is under cover until the first port. Formal nights were Friday and Monday. The comedy club was crowded each time I went, but there was standing room along the sides and in the back. I wouldn't say it was tough to get into it.

ladygal4.4 Posted December 24, 2016 #13 Share Posted December 24, 2016 Did you have a mandated check-in window? Or did you just show up early or late? The reason I'm asking is I thought there was a specific check in window, but my cruise for the Pride in April, has no where to do a check-in time. And I've cruised multiple times so I know where to look for it

GradUT Posted January 3, 2017 #19 Share Posted January 3, 2017 How was the food? We were on the Pride at the end of October. The food in the Lido and MDR was fine. The food at Guy's Burgers and Blue Iguana Cantina was out-of-this-world!
splintz Posted January 3, 2017 #20 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Thanks for the info! Guess the first sea day will be a good one to sleep inn and use the hot tubs! the venus main pool on the lido deck has a mechanical roof cover that they will close when you leave baltimore. so that pool area will be warmer and safe from the elements. the water will still be pretty cold though. but i don't think they can operate the roof cover while the ship is in motion. so it will stay covered until you reach your first port of call. then they will open it. it will stay open until they are ready to leave your last port of call and they will close it and it will remain close until you get back to baltimore. RHilla619 Posted January 3, 2017 #21 Share Posted January 3, 2017 How was the food? Very good, Guy's and Blue's were great as usual, but I found the buffet and MDR to be better than Carnival past cruises. Service with your time dining was great every night too. JennyD1 Posted January 4, 2017 #23 Share Posted January 4, 2017 I just returned from 7 nights on the Pride out of Baltimore. I'd be glad to answer any questions you may have. I will be cruising on the Pride on January 22 when she sails from Tampa. This will be my first time on the Pride. I wanted to know how the temperature was "indoors". Did you find it cold, hot or comfortable in the lounge, showroom, dining room, casino? On my last cruise on the Magic we froze in the comedy club and the casino. I like when my cabin is cool, but there were areas on the Magic where we froze. Did you play in the casino? Did they have any new slots? Was it very smoky? Thanks for any info. All slots are almost the same just a different name. The casino new name is the smoke lounge!! That's how they make their money.
