Asian restaurant on Escape?

Hi all -

 

Someone on our upcoming cruise mentioned that Escape has an asian restaurant and sushi near the casino. However, I don't see it listed in the dining options or the deck plans of the ship. Can anyone confirm this?

Escape does not have the Shanghai Noodle Bar that is found on Breakaway and Getaway. The closest it has are some Asian fusion dishes at Food Republic for an additional charge.

There is sushi and some noodle dishes at Food Republic. A la carte and not included in the dining package.

We dined at Food Republic twice and would have liked to go a couple more times but we had so many other things to do and see. I still dream of the Salmon Roll with eel sauce that was just amazing! This is the place for sushi. The other two places are a noodle bar and Teppanyaki (not my favorite). It is located in a strange spot and difficult to find but well worth the search! Don't miss it!

NCL did not put an Asian restaurant on the Escape. They expanded the casino into that space making their largest casino (until the Joy is launched). NCL also did not put in a Sushi Bar. The Food Republic serves to provide both Asian fusion foods and sushi on the Escape. The Food Republic is an a la carte restaurant where you pay for each item ordered. It is NOT covered by the the Specialty Dining Package. But,,,, the food is WONDERFUL!

This was true for the Getaway, but not for the Escape. It is a feature that I missed too. The Dawn also has an Asian restaurant, Bamboo.

Food Republic was not worth the money, IMO, but others raved about it.

 

The lunch and dinner buffets had some truly excellent Asian dishes daily, as well as Indian.

Food Republic does have some Asian/Asian fusion dishes. I loved everything I tried there, and we ate there 4 times on our cruise! There were also some decent Asian offerings on the buffet that I noticed the couple times we ate there.
