So what all do u have to pay for like fees and all for free cruise. Got my certificate and thinking of going on one but idk what min cost would be.

CAS cruises - you know, they charge you the $20 admin fees (the total cost of the admin is based on the cruise, for example: $140 if it is a 7-day cruise), and you would then have to pay the port and tax fees. It also depends on if you wanted to do an upgrade as well as how many are going on the cruise.

We are going on the Breakaway in January out of NOLA thru TR. For a 10 day cruise inside cabin with beverage package, 250 min internet, $50 per port excursion credit and phone call credit we are paying just under $1200 (that includes the beverage service charge and travel insurance. Before we have upgraded but this time decided to try inside cabin, may have a chance to bid on upgrade.

We get the offers about twice a year to come to a Total Rewards casino to get the free voucher. The first time was the only time that they told us exactly what cruises were valid and the only time we got a Balcony. Since that time we only get free Inside cabins (which we pay the upgrade) and they don't give you the list of what cruises it is valid on in advance. I hated that since only one casino is a day trip for us (all others must be overnight). I would get home the following day and call NCL and they would inevitably tell me the one on the list I want is sold out. They only allow so many "free" on each and many times they offer Caribbean cruises in hurricane season which I don't like. What I learned though, is the value to redeem on ANY cruise. So, now I find the cruise I want and call to book and they will tell you the value of your certificate. I booked a cruise out of Singapore this fall and they applied the $275 value for each of us against the cost. So, we got the cruise we wanted and saved $550. So, if there isn't one on the list good for you, don't throw it out- just use the form for a discount.

I get these cruises every year from a local casino. For this gambling or not gambling on the boat makes no difference at all.

Actually that used to be true but no longer. CAS has gotten wise to this and anyone who doesn’t not gamble on a land voucher will no longer get them from the land casino, they were losing to much money and have now tightened the noose on this.

The only thing I am not sure about is if someone gets vouchers from multiple casinos such as Resorts and Golden Nugget which are independent casinos, I am assuming you can get away with it but for sure TR will hit you on all 3 AC casinos since they are linked and if you make the list on Harrahs, you will be on the list for Ballys & Caesars also.

I have called and asked my host for a list of eligible cruises and dates. He has always email the info so I can see if the offer is one I might take. As for the costs....taxes and port fees which differ for each cruise but you can look up the cruise on the website or call and ask what the fees are. Also daily gratuity fees. I have booked the inside cabin and have been able to upgrade on the NCL auction for much less than paying for it up front. Also Casino of the Seas adds a processing fee around 200.00. So it's only the inside cabin that is free.

this is an amazing offer. I have never heard of getting 4 perks with an inside cabin. Each time I've used my TR certificates (inside offer) and upgraded to a balcony, I've only been able to get the perks of my original inside cabin offer...

On another note** If you do not get offers from TR, try calling NCL - I got a comp'd inside cabin directly from NCL based on my and my DH's casino play on the last cruise...

Nope, neither have I. In fact I phoned in to the Mesa group to combine 2 of these certs for inside to outside. I have one, and my wife has one. They said NO. I was going to cruise out of NOLA.

An inside cert gets ONE offer. Even if you pay for upgrade. Still stuck with original certificate offer.

As for certificates. NCL and TR work together on pulling a list of folks to make offers to. It is based on your ADT. 2 years ago NCL increased the ADT level to get an outside or a balcony cabin. I think they have increased it again. Now nearly everyone I know gets just an inside. 2 years ago 800 ADT got outside, 1200 got balcony. I don't know today.

Now I would like to know who you called to get 4 free perks from an inside ?

After doing some RCCL cruises lately. I am about to quit NCL after having 100 cruise points with them.

As previously mentioned. NCL just does not give out a "FREE CRUISE". However RCCL nearly does. How about $89 taxes and port fees for a 7 day cruise ?

NCL always hits you for $20 per day, and their port fees and taxes are higher than RCCL. This is all PP per person.

I recall some years back the NCL FREE CRUISE would run about $400 total. Now around $600 with no upgrades, grats, etc.

First of all i was very surprised when we could book the cruise for Jan because we thought it had to be used by Nov and that we could use it on a 10 day cruise. We were just picking the UBP, when we went in Feb we upgraded to ocean view and only got the 1 perk but apparently they were throwing in the extras this time but we didn't have a choice on them (we would have preferred the dining package instead of shore excursion or internet or phone calls. In my opinion they include the $50 per port excursion pkg in order to entice people to book excursions thru them instead of outside companies. It's only $50 per cabin not per guest. Not sure we will use it.

try again. That post did not post.

Had 11 day on cert from NOLA. So I called to see if I would get a price break, like 7 day price. NO. Still $20 per day PP.

Trying to use these certs gets more problematic each year. Had 3 this past season we did not use. Looks like 2 so far this season that won't be used. Part of problem is cutting back the dates at NOLA.

I think I got that in May. I did register just to see what would happen. Normally sail NCL out of NOLA. That used to be October through April. Now they have cut back to Thanksgiving through April 6. So the summer just wasn't going to happen for us. Not going to Florida.

What happened is I started getting more mail from NCL.

I'm booked on the Epic TA in November already, using the TR Diamond discount through CAS. This cruise is outside of the offer dates... but I registered anyway to see what would happen. :D

Hey great. Hope you have a beautiful cruise.

Back to bonus tier dates. Summer can be hot in the caribe. So I guess that summer offer would mean cruise Alaska ? Did it once out of Seattle.

Oh a perk NCL offers for Total Rewards cardholders. Free well drinks in the casino when it is open. Handy for getting bottled waters too. Just make sure you book using your TR discount so NCL knows for sure.

Does anyone know if you can combine the comped Casino at Sea cabin with the 30% discount for 7 stars?

I wish. I was told no previously. You can use the TR discount. Use your annual cruise. Or use any NCL certificate you get.

In some circumstances the certificates can be combined for a one level upgrade up to a mini-suite.

Also NCL has this bidding program for an upgrade. This after your booking is fully paid, and during the last 60 days before sailing.

Just checking if TR members with platinum status still get drink card? I booked back in October 17, for an October 18 cruise. Back then I was told we'd get the drink card, but I saw something on a thread about someone not getting it,? Thx:cool:

If you phoned in to 877-742-9521, that is the NCL TR booking group in Mesa Arizona, and they did your reservation. Then you should get a casino drink card when you first go to your cabin.

There should be a casino welcome letter there. Casino players card and drink card for player and spouse.

(Sorry, long story, hoping someone in the know will have the patience to read through this and reply!)

I think I may have screwed up our CAS cruise certificate offer by allowing a third party Travel Agent/Host Service to book the cruise for us. This is my husband's third CAS certificate, and we decided on a cruise going out of New Orleans and figured we'd stay at Harrahs the day before and the day after the cruise to sight-see, as we are going with another couple who've never been to NO before (and who also got the CAS certificate). my husband and I frequently go to Atlantic City on a monthly bus trip (weekend stay at Harrahs) sponsered by a Travel Agency/host company that has an affiliation with Caesers entertainment.

In the past we used this company to book a comped room in Vegas when we went there for a convention. So my husband checks his Total Rewards offers online to look for reduced room rates at Harrahs NO and of course, doesn't see any this time, even though he frequently saw them offered in the past. He tells me to email our contact at this company (which by the way appears as his 'host' in the Total Rewards App. On his phone) and I ask if she could get us a reduced room rate at Harrahs NO. She was able to and then asks us why we suddenly decided to go there when we usually just go to AC, so we tell her about the cruise certificate. She says "oh my I wish you'd contacted us first to book it because we can get you better rates than calling the NCL CAS # on the certificate', so I explained we hadn't called yet to book the cruise.

She asks for the certificate # and says not to worry, they'll book for us and get us the best rate. I asked twice, "will booking through you negate the (casino) drink card he got on the last two CAS cruises?". She said she'd ask them and now today she sends us the reservation info. and when I asked again, she said, "they said to tell you to see the casino host when you get on board the ship", which to me sounds like they arent going to give it to him. anybody else experience something like this happening? ( our friends havent booked yet, (and dont go with us on the AC bus trips/don't use this company) so I'm very curious to see if when they book directly through the NCL CAS # if they automatically get it or not.

My husband is now VERY unhappy at the thought of not getting the card (hes a big gambler AND drinker....) but he can'tblame this one on me because it was HIS idea for me to call the Travel Agent about the pre and post cruise hotel room.

Hi. I believe you're correct. The drink card is only given to people who reach Sapphire or above on the NCL Players Club. However, Caesars certificate bookings through CAS get to dodge that requirement, and will get a drink card no matter what their NCL Players Club level.

It sounds like you made your booking through a junket host. A junket host does not work for the properties/cruises they book, but are independent operators who get commissions for booking gamblers. They sometimes have access to better deals than you'd normally get from the casino/cruise, but they also lack power to fix anything if something goes wrong.

I am curious how you got a "better deal" through the junket host. Can you describe what your Caesars offer was, how much it would cost out of pocket (including admin fees, taxes, etc), and compare that to what you got from the junket host?

Your best bet is to call the Miami CAS office and ask them about your booking. Ask if it was actually booked with your Caesars certificate, and if you will get the drink card. Do not ask the junket host, as she probably doesn't know.

If you did lose the drink card, and if you really didn't get much of a "better deal", you might want to explain to CAS what happened, and that the junket host misled you regarding the drink card. They can probably negate what she did (without affecting your New Orleans reservation) and put you back on the certificate.

Good luck.
