-> ANTHEM: drink package discounts and other $$$ topics

Recommended Posts

I am currently on board the gorgeous Anthem of the Seas.

Still sorry that Dynamic Dining is gone. I have only eaten in the MDR once for dinner. It was adequate.

But let me get to the point. I had lunch today with the Bar Manager.

EVERY SHIP in the fleet should now be honoring the D/D+/PC discounts on the Deluxe Drink Package.

That's 20% off for Diamond (so if you can get that pre-cruise in your Cruise Planner, it should be a wash - your choice of when to buy); 30% off for D+ and 40% off for Pinnacle.

A few other nuggets:

Remember the thread last week (?) about the person who wrote a nice letter about the overpriced Nyquil in the shop and was reimbursed?

Here's a shocker: HA! It's still $17.99

In the casino, if you get cash on your SeaPass account, they now hand you cash. No more slot machine vouchers. (I make my SeaPass account a cash account, so they don't charge me the 5% fee. Then I put my credit card on my account at Guest Services before the end of the cruise.)

Yesterday they put all of the gratuity charges for the remaining four days of the cruise on everyone's SeaPass accounts. It looks like your account has jumped significantly, so they actually sent out a message informing you of this action. (a good thing, IMO)

I love the way that they phrased the message, though. "For your convenience" LOL

I will be happy to answer any Anthem questions whether they are financial or other.

:)

Do you know where and when, the Top Tier event is?

Thanks for volunteering to answer questions, and for the above information.

Kathy

Two70. 11:30 A.M. Second full sea day. (but this is on a 12 night cruise. May not have anything to do with other sailings)

Last week on Allure there was no discount for Diamond, 30% for D+ and 40% for P.

They akso took away the C&A benefit of the discount for casino tournaments for D and D+, it's still available for P's.

Most folks understood that the price will not change based on a latter.

Thank you for the info in the drink package discount for diamond plus. I really wish they would just make that update on the website so there is no confusion. Hoping to book the Canada/New England cruise on anthem for October this year. We loved the anthem and loved dynamic dining.

Hi, can D+ still go into the Concierge lounge on deck 12?

Thanks and enjoy the rest of your cuise!

Yes. The only ships with a Suite Lounge (instead of a Concierge Lounge) are Oasis, Allure, Harmony and Liberty.

Thank you for posting. We sail Anthem 2 weeks from today.

Are the Diamond Lounge hours 5 - 8:30 pm?

Even with a 20% discount, drink packages are not worth it for us.

Sorry to read that the MDR was only adequate as we hoped with the new menus the food would be better.

Great info, Merion Mom. Hope the remainder of your cruise is awesome. Yeah, the store items are crazily priced! The price of convenience...

Curiosity compelled me to go into the store to check the price of NyQuil. :D. Then I just had to look at a few more.

A can of Pringles? $5.99

:D

Other days may be better than the one time I was in the MDR. I have not encountered anyone complaining about dinners.

Yes to the DL hours. Things are aligned with the fixed seating, like other ships. (6 & 8:30)

It's a crap shoot, you don't know what, if any, promos will be available on board.
