Age Restrictions

I think your situation is "best of both worlds". For "minimum age = 18" restrictions ( club, casino), I believe he will be allowed once he is actually 18. For "maximum age = 17" restrictions ( kids club) he will be considered 17 for the entire week.

You're probably right! I'm wondering how they will handles the Bottomless Bubbles - if they will charge us one rate for the duration? Or will they change it halfway through? Not that it really matters.

Whatever his age the day he buys the soda package is the price that will be used.

I've heard rumors that the age he's at, will be the age he is referred to regardless of if his birthday is during the cruise.

However, with an ID, he can get into the casino and club if it shows he's 18. The tricky thing I've heard is if he turns 21 mid-cruise and there's a question if the bars will serve him or not.

How could they possibly refuse service if you're 21? I personally would insist on it, because he has ID which says he's 21. you might have to get an updated sign and sail card

OP's son is turning 18 on the cruise so whether someone turning 21 during a cruise is a moot point.

That being said, a cruise line can refuse service to anyone at any time.
