sararebekahquinn Posted January 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2017 We will be taking our 2nd cruise with our 10 and 6 year old boys. On the last cruise, the Camp Carnival staff went above and beyond. I wanted to tip them, but was unsure how much was appropriate. So, I am planning ahead this time. How much do you give? And, do you give to all the staff? Not sure how many work in each of their age groups. And I assume it is different each time. Could I ask at Guest Services for their names? Thanks for any wisdom on this.
maui07 Posted January 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2017 When I was a youth counselor on ships tips were much appreciated and not very common unfortunately. Most parents would give a tip to the counselor at the end of the week on the last night of service. All tips are then pooled from the staff and distributed evenly. Tip as much or as little as you see fit, it really isn't "expected." Just a nice acknowledgement to know you were appreciated.
cb at sea Posted January 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2017 The club "staff" are professionals...not "service employees"...there is no need to tip.

I know there is no need, but I truly appreciate all they do for my boys and would like to do it. Just like I give the boys' teachers gift cards because of how hard they work to help my children. Rare ronrick1943 Posted January 28, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 28, 2017 It's really a good idea, after all they are taking care of someone that means a lot to you.
